Yep. And to continue that trend:

I think I should give advanced warning to Wizard. I bought a 30yo titanic playmaker, passable passing with outstanding experience yesterday, and he'll be playing in our LU Cup match tomorrow. The good news for you is that he's in weak form. The bad news is that I still expect him to get 5 stars.

And it just gets better and better. He'll be partnered by a formidable playmaker with solid defending, inadequate passing and excellent experience. Who is currently in excellent form. He was suspended for my league match, so you get to face him as well.

I think this is probably the strongest friendly line-up I've ever put out, certainly in terms of midfield.

Have you guys seen Battrick? Might be good to get in on the ground floor and be heavyweights for a change! Sign up has started already. If you signed up previously then do it again as it didn't work till this week.

*** LAUNCH DATE: 24/4/05 ***
What is Battrick?

Battrick is a free online cricket management game where you compete against other people to see who is the best at the limited over game.

You can log in at any time of the day, or night, to check on your club, expand the ground, buy and sell players, set match orders for upcoming matches and much, much more. Each team will be involved in a limited over (50 overs) league and there's a limited overs cup tournament to compete for, too. You can be sure there will be plenty to keep your interest during the Battrick week!

It costs you nothing to play Battrick. Everything that you need to do to manage your side is on this site and changes take effect from the moment you give the orders. It is not a play-by-mail game; it's totally live. It's been designed so that you can spend as little, or as much, time managing your club as you wish.

Fellow LU members who play Hattrick

I am thinking about trying to get a team on hattrick after my 'Spell on the sideline'
After my incident back in Januray and i would like to participate in the LU cup and was wondering how many weeks are in a season and if i signed up and got a team when the next LU cup would be?

There's 16 weeks in the full Hattrick season. The LU Cup generally starts about round 5 or 6 when everybody has generally been knocked out of the Oceanian Cup. Seeing as it's week 10 or 11 now, the next LU Cup will start in about ten weeks (sounds quite a long time away, but it'll be here before you know it).

Hey Mad Dogg You have turned MY Thomas Papamattheakis into a good player it seems (TSI): 1 540, how many stars is he getting around? Great Job!

I just absolutely demolished 2nd place in my league 5-0, which probably doesn't do justice to how easily I had him covered (should've been about 7-0). Comfortably my best performance ever, and it was with both my new inner mids in weak form. Once they get going it's going to be very interesting just what midfield rating I can pull. I think I'm going to have quite a few Div IV teams hoping I don't promote to their league.

In bad news, it looks very unlikely that the Oceanian U20 team will qualify for the World Cup next season. We're going to have to beat the German team (very possible) and hope that Vietnam can beat Wales (very very unlikely). If we are knocked out, it's almost certain that all the current players will be dropped (including my player) and they'll be replaced by 17 and 18yo's in preparation for the next qualifying campaign in two season. Pedro has already played 16 games and is up to passable experience at the age of 19, but I was really looking forward to him playing in the World Cup next season and getting even more experience (never mind getting 40% of his wage paid for me). :(

He's capable of getting 3 stars now in solid form (probably 3.5 if played as a defensive wingback). I'll actually be selling him when he gets to excellent defending, which should be early next season.

i was beaten 5-2. disappointing. my new defenders were suffering from really crap form, so we were much weaker at the back. got one of the crappy teams next week, which i'll win for sure. then the second strongest side where i plan to use my match of the season tactic. we should finish 3rd from here which would be awesome considering i thought it was gonna be a long fight against relegation when the season started.

as for next season, i'll be looking to:
  • sell my current keeper and buy a new solid keeper, an oceanian, non ginger
buy an outstanding scorer, an oceanian, preferably black, not ginger
buy an excellent defender, an oceanian, not ginger haired if possible

the second two on that list will probably eat up most of the money i can spend. otherwise, i'll be in the market for some new wingers to add to my training rescheme. i'm also looking to bring in more locals to the team. i have too many foreigners at the moment. i'm keeping one ginger in the squad as a token gesture to the fans of my team with that horrid hair colour. yeh...bring on next season
