Actually, you were scheduled to face Poida this week, but seeing as he hasn't got his team yet you may end up getting the three points.

i was thinking about getting supporter when i get my new team aswell, i read about paying by bank transfer or something similar which ends up being cheaper anyway. so i have given it serious thought.
It was the new option for a bank transfer to a local bank which caused me to finally buy it. Just seemed to make it much easier than a transfer to a Swedish account like it used to be.

Some of you may remember me talking about my youth pull last season, a 17yo solid defender who popped to excellent after only one week of training. He's now an 18yo and regularly the top rated 18yo defender in Oceania, and the current U20 manager basically told me, as long as he stays fit *touch wood*, he has a very good chance to be taken into the Oceanian U20 team once they get knocked out of the World Cup. So part of me is almost hoping they get knocked out in the first round that they are playing now.

Just a quick note -

Moises Rogers just cracked 20,000 TSI.

Shame I can't train him properly any more.

I'd be willing to sell him for $7.5 million just in case anyone has the spare cash lying around.

I doubt I can afford him, but what are his stats?

Yep I just accepted Nibbs. BTW is it meant to be Cup rules because I checked after I accepted (silly me) and found that you offered the challenge under cup rules. Well whatever should make for a good match.

Also I'm having issues with team confidence, my chargers haven't been beaten in 5 league matches, we have a clown in the squad, plus a coach with inadequate leadership, so why can't I get my team spirit above composed? :?

It's fine if you want to play by cup rules (supposedly gives a slightly higher attendance but also brings a slightly higher risk of injury if the match does go into extra-time). If by chance it is a draw at the end of the 90 minutes and it goes into extra-time, for the purposes of the cup we'll take the result at the end of 90 mintues.

Confidence and Team Spirit are two different things. The results of your matches will effect confidence (which helps - or hinders if it's at a low level - convert your scoring chances into goals). Team Spirit (which adds to or subtracts from your midfield rating) will be effected by whether you PIC or MOTS your matches. PIC'ing will lower your midfield rating in that match, but will raise your Team Spirit so that you should get a higher rating in the next match. MOTS will improve your midfield in that match, but will halve your Team Spirit so it will take a number of weeks to get back to where you were.

Whenever your Team Spirit is above or below composed, it will always slowly return to the composed level. That's where clowns and coaches will high leadership help. They will make the TS rise quicker if it is below composed, and will slow the drop if you are above composed. So if you have a clown and a good leadership coach, PIC'ing a few weeks in a row will have your TS at successively higher levels.

EDIT: I've updated the table on the other Hattrick thread. I've also put the complete fixtures list for the rest of the Cup. Ummm, Chile - one more time my friend. Madtown Vikings (77607) – Poida Raider to replace Arsenal A.C in the team listings.

Gotta be a popular guy with solid leadership nibbs, and have no one else in your squad with solid leadership or it could jeapordise the effect the clown has on your squad.

There are a few different definitions of a clown. I'll try to explain it to give you the best understanding.

Firstly, every team has a team leader. This is the player (not counting the coach or any players who used to be the coach) with the highest leadership in your team. If you have two or more players with the same level of leadership, then you won't know which one is the team leader as it depends on how high they are in that level (which is something you can't see).

Now, the team leader influences your Team Spirit. The way he does this is depending on his agreeability. The levels of agreeability are:

popular
sympathetic
pleasant
controversial
nasty

Pleasant is the middle point where he won't have any impact on your Team Spirit at all. If he's sympathetic or, better yet, popular, then he will help your Team Spirit rise back to composed faster after you've MOTS'd, and slow the fall back to composed if you get it above that. However, if he's controversial or nasty he will slow the rise or speed the fall to composed.

Hence, the term 'clown' has come to be used when talking about a solid leadership with popular agreeability, which are the top levels you can hope for . Actually there is one beloved team member in the Hattrick world which is even above popular, but he doesn't have any leadership so he doesn't actually do anything. According to the story, he was created when the Hattrick Developers were at a party and somebody pulled an otherwise crap youth pull. They decided to have some fun and changed him to a beloved team member.

However the coach's leadership has a bigger influence than a clown. If your coach only has poor or below leadership, then a clown probably won't be able to help you keep the TS at above composed for the full week between games, although it will still help you a little to rise back to composed after you've MOTS'd.

For the record my captain is a sympathetic guy who is balanced and upright. I'd assume that, that is good???
