Heheh! Cheers fellas!....I am WELL chuffed with my run this season!...Yeah the cup run & a rather nice youth pull last week (FIIIIINALLY some of Mad Dogg's luck has rubbed off on me!! ;)) have really boosted the coffers!...I have been doing a bit of window shopping lately, and will be off to the ATM to go spend some of that filthy lucre in coming weeks! :)

LOL...and i'm working on getting knocked out Mad Dogg - but us Doggies (Of both the Whataloada and Canterbury varieties!) are a TOUGH old bunch - We just refuse to lie down!!...Backs to the wall, chips down & up the creek without a paddle - JUST BRING IT ON BABY - THAT'S HOW WE LIKE IT - THE TOUGHER THE BETTER!!!!!!!

Well my cup run is finally over. But the $800,000 i got from the crowd revenue will nicely buy me another excellent winger :D

Once Dog-E is out of the Oceania Cup the LU Cup will start up again.

Cheaters never prosper is hattrick but they do always get caught. Talking from experience, i know that there is much greater satisfaction in playing the game properly and too the rules. When I lost my first team after a bad deal had my team cut, I was gutted and vowed to play by the rules. I was lucky they let me back into the game at all. It took another 6 months to rebuild my team to half the team i used to have.

(FIIIIINALLY some of Mad Dogg's luck has rubbed off on me!!)
Well how about giving it back to me? Since that magical 7 week period where every pull was at least passable in a primary skill, I've had nothing but crap. Unfortunately, two of the teams in my league had great youth pulls (one had a 17yo solid goalie in the first week of the season that went for over $4m, the other had two players in a row that went for over a million) and has made my league incredibly competitive. Those two teams are easily capable of getting excellent midfield (outstanding with MOTS), while I can also get excellent if I MOTS. Another can get solid, while 2 other teams can't be taken easy since they have the attack to hurt if you take them lightly (which I found out a few weeks ago :( )

I managed to beat the favourites when I played them earlier in the season, and play the 2nd favourites tomorrow. Surprising them is the order of the game, I upset the top team by unexpectedly playing 4-5-1, and for this next match have swapped sides for everything (I deliberately put my strongest attack on the left and defence on the right in all other games so I could do this) and am playing my wingbacks offensively. Tactics, tactics, tactics - so frustrating when it goes against you, but the satisfaction of out-thinking a superior side is great.

Heheheh! Not a chance, sorry mate!! ;) You let it go and now it's MINE!!!! :p - I managed a passable 17yo PM this week!..Not great but considering what DROSS ive got in the past season and a half - it's pretty damn good for me!!...5-600k at least!...Pays the wages, with some change left over! :)

Yeah that's a bugger when one team in direct competition with u gets a great run & boost like that!!...I speak from presonal experience, after a team in my division pulled not one - but TWO excellent PM's in one season - both 18!!!!...He made a PACKET, and not surprisingly leapfrogged several better teams at the time (myself included!) and romped in the series that season!! :(

Yeah man!!!..That is definitely where the GREATEST satisfaction is!!...Planning & plotting and seeing your best laid plans come to bring someone better than you DOWN!!...good stuff! :)

I've pulled a couple of shifty ones this season in the cup!...And have a nasty niiiiice little surprise for my Pacific Premier opponents on Wednesday!!!

I reckon I'm at least a 50/50 shot at this bloke!...IF he plays his reserve midfield!...his first teamers get a DIVINE mf! But his reserves - whilst still rather fabulous, and I would love to have them as my FIRST team midfield - are VERY pluckable methinks!!!

Not that I want to hold up u gentlemen from the LU cup...but a premier team would be QUITE the feather in my cap!! :D

Wish me luck!!...I'm not a religious man, but at 11:59am on Wednesday - I will definitely be [-o< to the Gods of HT!

heheh!

It worked.

He went into half-time 3-1 up, but he got that nasty litte message about lowering his tempo to concentrate on defence. I came out and scored three in the 2nd half to take the game 4-3. I now move onto 12 points for the season, equal my opponent (but behind on for and against) and 3 behind the top team. As an added bonus, my striker scored a hattrick and is now the league top scorer with 10 goals.

I had some great stats this week, including my first ever formidable midfield (granted I MOTS'd, but condisdering my new middie was in weak form it was a great result):

Midfield: formidable
Right Side Defence: excellent
Central Defence: formidable
Left Side Defence: formidable
Right Side Attack: excellent
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: excellent

However, Panathinaikos (the top team in my league) knows how to spoil my party:

Midfield: brilliant
Right Side Defence: excellent
Central Defence: outstanding
Left Side Defence: passable
Right Side Attack: brilliant
Central Attack: formidable
Left Side Attack: outstanding

That brilliant midfield comes on the back of one of his midfielders getting a weather speciality, but still. Div V teams (namely those in my league) shouldn't be able to get brilliant midfield.

Now to start planning on how to pull of the upset in the return fixture in 5 weeks (and start praying for the match against Pana a few weeks after that). I'm thinking 4-4-2 counter-attack, as he's going to win the midfield for sure.

Midfield: inadequate :(
Right Side Defence: magnificent
Central Defence: formidable
Left Side Defence: outstanding
Right Side Attack: excellent
Central Attack: solid
Left Side Attack: formidable

I lost 2-1 based on the midfield even though I concentrated on the wings in attack. My opponent ripped into my middies for the entire game. My outstanding striker got red carded just when i thought i could snatch a draw.

sorry boys for the long time no speak. ive been busy.

And ive had some mad dogg luck aswell
what should i do with this young chap?:

Bryan Matthews
18 years, passable form, healthy
A popular guy who is balanced and upright.
Has disastrous experience and passable leadership abilities

$536 000
Stamina: disastrous Keeper: passable
Playmaking: wretched Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: wretched
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: wretched

is he a clown?? or semi clown?
should i sell him or keep him?
how much would he go for???

Second best clown you can get. I'd be keeping him.
Only if Holc doesn't have anybody in his side with solid leadership. Other players with passable leadership could also negate his clown effect, if they are a higher passable than Matthews (no way to tell except to watch team spirit - if it takes longer to drop and goes up faster then Matthews is more than likely the team leader).

Just had a look at Holc's side, and unfortunately he does have a player with solid leadership who would be the team leader (Fredrik H. Ramsjö). He has pleasent agreeability, which is pretty much in the middle. You won't be getting any bonuses from having him as the team leader, but you won't be getting any disadvantages either. There are also another three players with passable leadership (two controversial, one pleasant), so there would be no point getting rid of the solid guy (something that I might recommend seeing as he looks like he isn't an important player).

So don't worry about his sem-clown when you decide whether to keep him or not. Although I see that you're selling your other passable goalie, so I'm guessing you're replacing him with Matthews.

yeh i can get rid of the solid guy, hes nothing. Also i was thinking of training this guy up, how long would it take to go up to say excellent?
and is it a good idea to train goal keeping?

If you do get rid of the solid leader, then it's uncertain which of the players with passable leadership will become your team leader. Could be the popular guy, could be the pleasant, or could be the controversial (if I remember correctly you were selling one of the two controversials).

I believe goalkeepers take 5 weeks to level up if you have 9 goalkeeping coaches. With your guys value I'm guessing he's a very high passable, so it would probably only take 6 or 7 weeks for him to go excellent. Whether or not it's worth training, I don't know. Never have trained goalkeeping. The advantages are that it's quite fast and the profit level does seem to rise quite quickly if you sell them, but the disadvantage is obviously that you can only train two at a time.
