Alright you gormless pricks, it's Derby Day, so it's time for my biennial post in this thread.

This is what being a Manchester City fan is all about.

Whilst avoiding the obvious allegations of being "bitter" and "obsessed", as a Blue, this is the first match I look out for when the fixtures are released. Playing United is the biggest game of any season — but especially this one, considering that it now true meaning in the context of both United's and City's season.

For what is football without its rivalries? The tribalism of your teams' colours as congregate for the away game (or black if you're a United fan *wink*), the frisson one experiences with a hint of danger in the air. You know a blue might just kick off at any moment, and you know you're better than them because of who you support, and they are weak scum, because of who they support.

But as for the day itself, I hate it and hate it in equal measures. The result is amplified: wins are orgasmic, defeats are crushing, while draws just infuriate. And as always, I hope we smash you merkins.

2-1...that is all

Now if only Citeh brought an attacking game plan like that more often, they may not have been trailing us by 8 points. :p

Good win overnight. Wigan took it to us, but couldn't find a finisher. All 4 of our goals were very nicely constructed, but the hero was definitely Van Der Sar, who saved two certain goals. Nice to get a win on the road. Now let's hope we can bag two more over the next week.

f**k. Why can we never f**king win at Stamford f**king Bridge? Great goal from Rooney, but we couldn't make it count.

Chelsea at home + Atkinson ref = Chelsea win.

On the positive, until Evra again forgot how to defend we looked good and we were playing 442!!

Lets always play this formation.

Not sure why Berbatov didn't play. Leading scorer, not played? I have a feeling we may be getting rid in summer.

We need a passing mid with energy in the summer. Sahin would be nice, probably be Henderson...

Other than that, siege mentality back, time for Anfield!!

Don't ever blame the ref as a Rag fan.

Why not?

When we win all we get is the refs biased, Fergie time etc.

Well this time he was inept the other way. This happens more than the people want to admit, but bitters don't see that, they just cry about 4 mins injury time etc.

Bloody hell this team insists on doing it the hard way. Bloody lucky to get out of that one with 3 points at the death.

By the by, has Jonny Evans ever done anything other than cost us games, or do his level best to?

Yes, he has done loads other than 2to do his best to cost us games". What a stupid thing to say.

Its not luck when we do it so often. Its a will and desire to win. For the opposite watch a City game.

Evans was fantastic up until January last year. He's struggled massively in the 14 months since then, but I'm sure he'll turn it around eventually. Actually, I thought he was looking much better against Bolton, especially in the second half where he was fantastic until he got himself sent off. Hopefully he can keep that turn-around going and get back to where he promised to be.

Smalling looks like an incredible prospect as well. In a way he almost combines the best parts of Rio (speed, anticipation and ball-playing ability) with the best parts of Vidic (power and aerial dominance). As good as Evans was, I never thought he could be as good as those two (hardly a bad thing considering they are/were the best central defenders in the world). Whereas Smalling does have that potential. He's been a god-send this season considering Evans' poor form and Rio's injury problems. The biggest compliment I can give him is to say that we've barely missed Rio.

Fabio--Evans--Smalling--Rafael

Could be our backline for the next decade. We just need Evans to get back into form and for Fabio (and to a lesser extent Rafael) to stop getting injured.

Thank you Stoke, Wigan, and Blackburn... all drew with Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal respectively. Keeps us in the lead with a 7 point gap, but Arsenal have a game in hand.

We are in the box seat. Assuming Arse don't f**k up again, we've still got more thman a game on them. It is entirely in our own hands. The trick will be managing 3 competitions when Arse only have the league to worry about.

Awesome comeback overnight. I like the look of that new left bck.
