And a couple of days after he's gone then the dippers finally acknowledge what a fantastic player he is and has always been. Funny.

Name one moment where i have said Ronaldo wasn't one of the best players in the world? My problem has always been the petulant attitude he has at times displayed on the field. No doubt United Fans will be quick to jump on this. This preseason is going to be an entertaining one :D

Well well well

As Manchester United contemplate life after Cristiano Ronaldo, setanta.com can reveal that the Old Trafford club have held talks with the Chile international Alexis Sanchez.
The agent of the Udinese forward claimed that the player’s representatives have held talks with United as well as a number of other English teams regarding a proposed transfer to The Premier League.
Last summer United registered a formal interest in the 20-year-old, who had just spent a year on loan at River Plate, only for Udinese to rebuff The Red Devils.
An eye-catching season in Serie A during which Sanchez made 32 first-team appearances for Udinese was proof of their prudence.
With United now eyeing a replacement for the Real Madrid bound Ronaldo, Nino Maravilla, or Wonder Kid, could complete a transfer that has been a year in the making.
Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich told setanta.com: “My partner is currently in England working on the transfer of Alexis.
“Yes, we have spoken to Manchester United, but not just to United. We have also held talks with other English teams.
“We are trying to do the transfer this summer.”

Good riddance. Greedy bastard pretending to be a loyal player.

We have a huge gap in our squad now but plenty of time and money to fix that.

Fascinating stuff. I always thought the transfer fee was the main hindrance in the process. Tevez you slick huckster you.

Something tells me he really wanted to stick it to us because Sir Alex wouldn't pick him as often as he liked. f**king sook. After all the support he has received from United fans, he turns around and says being one of our highest paid players isn't good enough for him. If that's his attitude, good riddance. I honestly thought he wasn't a princess like Ronaldo, but I guess I was wrong.

One thing this does is put the onus on Berbatov to really step up next season. I have no doubt he can do it, just a question of will he do it.

Valencia from Wigan, and Benzema are the big two rumours aroud here at the mo.

Ribery gets an honourable mention in dispatches also. However this is all rumour and mainly put out by Agents trying to get more money for there players.

Douglas Costa from Gremio is another name, we have apparently put a bid in but Gremio want to much money so i guess we will see.

Tevez has said a lot of things, but when talk started in January he was playing garbage so United held off paying the full asking price (correctly IMO). Now we have offered it he said he wanted more time to chose (see who offers the most money), we said no. If you don't want to play for us, do one.

United have been linked with wingers, becasue Rooney will play inside next season. He is so much better than Tevez.

I think Huntelaar would be a good signing and with Perez wanting to get rid of him he'd probably come at a decent price

Huntelaar would be alright if he was happy with sitting on the bench.

Welbeck is gonna be huge this year, and Marcheda can also perform in that role however. Another name on the radar is Owen.

I doubt United will take anyone of Madrid.

United sign Valencia
Manchester United is delighted to announce it has completed the signing of Antonio Valencia from Wigan Athletic on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old Ecuador international has played 34 times for his country, scoring four goals.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: “Antonio is a player we have admired for some time now, having spent the last two years in the Premier League with Wigan. I am sure his pace and ability will make a significant contribution to the team.”

Antonio Valencia said: “Joining Manchester United is a dream come true for me. I have enjoyed my time at Wigan, but I am thrilled to have the chance to challenge for the biggest honours in club football here.

“Playing in front of 76,000 fans alongside players like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs will be an amazing experience. I can’t wait to get started.”

Valenica has signed with us...... Is he a good signing? I can admit I haven't seen much of him in the Premier League.

He's a very good signing imo. Tried and tested in the premier league, fast, strong and will do a great job minimising the impact of Ronaldos departure.

I'm not 100% convinced he was the right choice, happy to be proved wrong however...hopefully we buy a couple more players as well

van der Sar
Maicon - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Valencia - Carrick - Hargreaves - Park
Rooney - Benzema

Subs:
Foster (GK)
Rafael
Evans
Anderson
Fletcher
Nani
Berbatov

My dream post-Ronaldo team. No f**king chance though, Lyon would expect the majority of the fee from the Ronaldo sale for Benzema and United won't pay it. No club is going to sell for a reasonable price knowing we have all of this money to spend. Madrid have completely f**ked the transfer market with their spending.

No Giggs, even on the bench? Replace Nani with Tosic (I dont rate Nani AT ALL) and at this stage Anderson with Giggs and thats my best team for next year. I think Anderson will turn into something special in time though, but right now I'd have Fletch above him.

He is a traditional right winger. Good crosses etc. but not as many goals.

He would fit nicely into a 4-4-2 formation, but hasn't shown enough of a goal scoring threat to replace ROnaldos role on the pitch. If we buy Benzema (big if) then we will prob continue to play 3 up front. Berbatov as the front man, with Ronney and Benzema behind. These three players will have to get the extra goals that Ronaldo scored. With this formation i don't see where Valencia will play. If we don't buy Benzema, then he will play right wing, we will hopefully buy a left winger in and Rooney and Berbatov upfront in ya classic 4-4-2.

He will offer flexibility and hopefully a bit more composure than Park on the ball.
