Zero reason to care about it if you haven't seen Rebels. Well, maybe except for Baylan. RIP Ray.

Love that Thrawns voice actor is playing him though. Thrawn was so good in Rebels.
100% agree on Thrawn.

I forgot how nuanced his voice work is… when I was thinking back before the series I was thinking really a blue guy with an English accent… but then hearing him again it’s far more nuanced than that.

the pauses… and the almost inconsequential drawl he talks with it’s almost like he’s extremely focused and uptight but at the same time he’s carefree.. lol if that makes sense.

great villain…

I am a little disappointed with Ezra, the Jedi who dragged a starship to another galaxy, now fights like a f**king hippie with bone spurs. Hopefully he is just holding back.

I was thinking he’s probably conflicted because I remember he struggled with controlling the dark side and flirted with the Sith Holocrons and stuff.

maybe he’s kinda turned into some sort of weirdo hermit like Luke, Obi-wan & Yoda ended up doing…

I know absolutely nothing about Rebels but I have enjoyed Ashoka as a simple star wars adventure show. I really like Roasario and the dude who plays Thrawn is good. I have mostly liked the TV shows, way more than the movies.

If you enjoy Ahsoka i would definitely recommend watching Star Wars Rebels…

would flesh out so much of the story for you…

even some of the small stuff on the side… like Thrawn being one of the only people to know Anakin was Vader.

just adds another layer of Star Wars dorkyness to it… lol

Do I need to watch clone wars as well?
I can give you a condensed Clone Wars list I made for the purpose of watching Rebels -> Ahsoka. I mean there's plenty of them around but I made one because I love Clone Wars.

28 episodes + the CW movie. Not necessarily the best of CW but heavily Ahsoka focused for a bit of background on why you should care about her.

I'm glad she's remembered how to speak and have a personality lately.

Thanks, I've been meaning to give it a go, may do so
This was my list, Season - Episode format. Tales of Jedi is pretty much just more Clone Wars style content. Ep4 is Dooku still as Jedi, and Episode 6 is Ahsoka post-Clone Wars pre-Rebels.

Tales of Jedi - Episode 4
Clone Wars Movie (optional, people hate it, I liked it - introduces Ahsoka. You can also just watch the first 'act' for Anakin and Ahsoka meet)

I've been waiting to see Thrawn in live action since being given Heir to the Empire for Christmas in 1996.

Baylan is the best character introduced in the live action Filoniverse.

Had to lol at how just a mention of a member of the OG trio is enough to tie up a plot line.

A good show, but not great. Definitely better than Boba Fett and Obi Wan, maybe better than Mando? Hard to compare to Andor (anything is really) just because of how different it is.

I think the best summary I can give is that it was underwhelming given the characters it was working with. Some really good content and some very average content. If I can be bothered, I'll expand on that in another post.

Loved it. Set up much.

Ezra Jedied (not sure a word) up.

So did Sabine, her and Grogu will become Mandalorian Jedi a rare thing.

I hope Ashoka and Sabine explore the new Galaxy, there has to be other planets in an entire galaxy before returning.

Not sure what they do with with Baylan. The poor fella died, some sort of Mortis God connection.

R2-D2 will some how save them all, he always does.

I thought the episodes kept getting better each week up until the finale. It just didn’t finish up any threads and the action was pretty weak.
Still looking forward to season 2 which should happen, but not having Ray Stevenson around to play Baylon is a huge loss.

Ahsoka was terrible.

Thrawn was amazingly dumb on so many occasions. Prime example we need to slow the Jedi down so we can escape. I know lets leave every door open from the entrance all the way to our escape ship, and to top it off lets allow a light saber cut to a door panel to slow our own troops down.

Ezra not asking how Sabine got there or being pissed that she has undone his sacrifice by freeing Thrawn.

The whole thing was a non stop key jangling fiasco.

And FFS please no more hidden map quests.

Look every is entitled to thier opinions.

What I do not get, is if you do not like it why keep watching?

I started plenty of series and if I do not like it I stop watching, maybe before the first episode finished.

Why keep watching? Why?

2 main reasons i have an interest in the universe that these characters are involved in. Enjoyed the OT and the prequels a lot. The sequels and the current disney wars TV has been like studying a disaster.

I have seen some random parts of the cartoons and thought they were OK.

The second is I watch a youtube channel that does breakdown on the episodes that I enjoy and I like to have seen the episode before watching it.

An excellent Video on episode 5

A link to the start of the ahsoka series they will combine the whole series after they recap episode 8

Thrawn in the books was an unstoppable force

The way he was defeated
Was his bodyguard stabbing him after discovering the deceit that led to the Empire forcing his people into indentured servitude

This Thrawn is a shadow of the character.
