To all those jumping on the bandwagon of Marshall having a dud 2012; you have absolutely no idea.
Marshall played most of the year at 7. It has been said many times before, but some people don't listen; Marshall is a world class 6. He is not a 7. Never will be, end of story.
Playing 7 required him to play first receiver & direct the team, which is not his strength. Even so, most games he was our only player on the field who posed a threat, mainly due to our outside backs being way out of form & down on confidence. Sheens (& some fans) simply expected him to do everything.
If he is guilty of anything, it was trying too hard. In fact, in the last game against Storm, he was constantly running back & forth, switching sides of the ruck as he was our only playmaker. Most teams have a reasonable 9, 7, 6 & 1, we don't. Both Marshall & Farah are often trying to compensate for this, which leads to them being criticised.
Sure, he missed his far share of tackles, but here's a scoop - the stats each week show that all he smaller 6 & 7's get plenty of traffic & get found out. Yes, even Thurston - fact.
Get over yourselves.
