Gee Whiz there was some power thrown around for 6 minutes there. Huge uppercut! Big Country can take a shot, Mark Hunt can just deliver them better!

WOW was supporting Hunt but thought for sure big Country was gonna submit him. Nelson never gets laid out like that just shows the power Hunt has in his hands.

How can you not love Hunt. The most laid back mother f**ker in the UFC. Knocks out Big Country and walks off like he's laid out a nobody. That uppercut is f**king brutal!

Yeah, love Hunt's casual looking shots that just somehow knock the bejeebus out of his opponents.
They showed a replay of the Hunt - Bigfoot majority draw in the leadup here on NZ TV, that was awesome to rewatch (last couple of rounds were in slow motion but still brutal as), there was a shot in that fight where Hunt just looks like he's kinda sticking his arm out but it hits Bigfoot on the button to knock him to the floor.

Hope he gets back in title contention.

Tbh this card doesn't interest me much at all.. Certainly wouldn't ppv it. The only fight I'm interested on this card is the return of Dominick Cruz.. Has had a shit run really hope he has some injury free years on the horizon

Just in case anyone missed it - Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier fined and given community service for their stare down brawl about a month ago:

Jones - $50,000 fine and 40hrs Community Service to be served in Vegas

DC - $9,000 fine and 20hrs Community Service in San Jose

http://www.mmafighting.com/2014/9/2...-given-40-hours-community-service-for-ufc-178

Not sure I agree with the massive discrepancy in punishment here. Jones initiated contact first by putting his forehead on DC's (but that happens in a lot of stare downs) and DC initiated the brawl by shoving Jones. IMO they're both clowns and should have received the same punishment.

Jones has to serve his Community Service in Vegas and I'm pretty sure he trains in Albuquerque New Mexico, which isn't too far away, but DC gets to serve his in his hometown? :? The panel may have gone lighter on DC because his share of the purse is less, but apparently Jones lost his Nike endorsement deal over this brawl.

Not to mention I think the moment Jones injured his leg and became unavailable for September Gustafson should have been reinstated for the January rematch.

Nahh... I'm happy with DC vs Jones... That brawl and all the animosity just has so much heat in it at the moment.

Gus is young... He will get his chance...

What's everyone think of the Yoel Romero situation where he was out on his feet at the end of round 2 and got an extra half a minute to recover because his corner wouldn't leave the cage?

It's a hard one... I actually don't blame the corner... It's pretty hard to take the stool if the guy won't get off it.

Big John should have been on the ball and warned him straight away that if he didn't stand up it would be called off...

Big John let him wait an extra minute before doing anything.

I mean if that's going to be he precedent than I can see a lot of fighters trying to get an extra half a min or so between rounds if they're gassed or not fully with it

Yeah I can't see that being accepted....

The red just needs to be more proactive... I think big john got taken by surprise...

Been seeing a lot if people saying Romero is a cheat and such but there isn't a sport in the world where people don't see how far they can bend the rules and get an advantage. In this case it happened to work.

Dominick Cruz up 8 spots in the rankings to number 2 and next in line vs Dillashaw.

Looked like a BEAST in there! Seems like the rightful king of the division is back. Wish Anderson comes back in the same fashion

A bit harsh on Weidman there...

Cruz never lost his title in a fight... So I can understand where your coming from there...

But Anderson lost twice... And both fights were decisive...

Weidman has defended his belt twice... 1st against Anderson, 2nd against Machida. And he won both fights convincingly...

With the greatest respect to the great Anderson Silva... Weidman is the undisputed king of the division.
