Didn't watch UFC 179 but some interesting results.

Aldo defeats Mendes 49-46 and Phil Davis dominates Glover Texeira 30-27. Surprised that Davis asked for Anderson Silva and not a title shot, must know there is a long queue.

Went to the show today, 11 fights for 11 finishes. Pretty sure only 3 fights made it past round 1 as well. Really good card, only average fight was Palelei vs Harris IMO, 2 absolute monsters tho.

Agree about Matthews Shiz, he looked real good. Asked for Ellenberger in Boston post fight as well so he's not short on confidence.

I thought Whittaker was going to get monstered by Hester but wow. His boxing and head movement in particular was so good to watch live. Crowd erupted with that finish.

Rockhold just looked on another level to Bisping. Also looked alot bigger, he's so long and rangy with those kicks. He threw a lovely head kick just before the one that dropped Bisping. I couldn't believe the one arm guillotine either, he looked calm and in control from the 1st second of the fight.

The thing with Hunt is, is that it only takes one punch from him, he is out matched skill wise, but if he can keep it standing up, then he is a massive chance, but if not, i don't give him a hope.

I don't fancy him based on the weight cut and the high altitude.

Stylistically I actually think Hunt matches up okay.

Stand up wise... Werdum has come along leaps and bounds... But Hunt is on another level.

On the ground Werdum is a shark in the water and Hunt is a sprat.

The big thing hunt has is his TDD... That's far, far superior to Werdums wrestling.... So normally i would be happy to go with Hunt by KO or UD because I just think Werdum will find it too hard to hang with Hunt in the feet and won't be able to bring the fight to the floor... Similar to his loss to Overeem.

But with the late cut... The altitude... I honestly can't see Hunt keeping the fight standing for the whole 5 rounds. He could even gas and then get KO'd by Werdum,

His biggest chance will be to finish him in the early rounds... Once it goes to the championship rounds I think it goes heavily in to Werdums favour.
