The Moylan Issue

Yep. Didn't adjust. Him and Cumguts cost us the game.
He wasn't good but he didn't cost us the game. He is supposed to win us games, which he didn't do.
I would say the weak defence on the tryline by Talak, which cost us 6 points, and the stupid penalty by BHU which cost us 2 points, cost us the game more than Moylan.
Kick two of those goals and we win.
Just giving a different view point.

True, but he gave some penalties away when we had them pinned also

A drop ball with them trying to get out of their own end, and we score.

And don’t forget MilkShark game on the line with our last set at their goal line with tackles up his sleeve he put in a shyte kick that went flying over the sideline with Katoa ready to swoop on anything that stayed on the field.

yeah in THAT weather, to put it dead, he really must have put some oomf into it

The shit pass to ramien? coming out of our 20m was also another blight on his game

The kick for katoa was on, but if you’re going to attempt it in those conditions at that time of the game on the second tackle you need to nail it. Disappointing

Yeah toss up between Moylan and Ferguson for the worst pass in the game.

Have to give it to Ferguson though for the lol’s.

To clarify - I’m def not anti-Moylan. Those games he played at fb before his most recent injury were sensational. Can def see his influence on Kennedy’s improved ball-playing.

Yesterday, I was happy to see him not stretch out those dodgy hammies in the mud but a seriously under-frickin-whelming performance. Not at all suited to wet weather footy.

fb Moyza’s best spot. And I’d stick with Kennedy now, for moneyball value as a start plus the development potential displayed. How good was his handling in the wet!

He was very good in his first season for us playing 5/8.

my main concern with him there has been how he would go with Johnson. Apart from a few individual plays we didn’t seem unorganised yesterday. We were pretty solid really, although the weather can hide some things too as the play is slowed down.

I actually think it might be worth leaving him there if he can get his fitness right.

I can't see us moving him until Chad's back in two week. Then after that pretty safe to assume he's going back to FB

Or maybe to the bench to take Tracey's spot, unlikely and not quite sure what role he'll play but I don't think Kennedy deserves to be dropped.

Though I think we could go back to four forwards when Fifita is back personally.

Starting to sound like a race horse analyst Eion. Lol.

Forget last run coming off a big spell, bad barrier draw, wet conditions didn’t suit and will enjoy a dry track and next race is down in class.
SJ run Moses down he like the wet track conditions
Myself I always perform better in the wet lol

Moylan was rusty and loose. Just like was expected. He had the opportunity to win the game and didn't execute. That's the burden of the playmaker. Execute and you're a hero, stuff it and you failed.

He missed an opportunity to win us the game but didn't lose us the game. 2 poor pieces of goal line defence with Talakai and Brailey2 taking dummies plus BHU giving away a penalty cost us points. All were preventable.

On the other hand it was a tough, gritty performance. They showed something they can build on.

This.

We are much more dangerous with him at 6 and kennedy at 1, than him at 1 and chad at 7.

Trindal at 6 and Kennedy at 7 , we are really dangerous when SJ plays and slots.
I’m not a fan of Moylan but felt a bit sorry for him in the last 20 min when nothing went right. Could we sell Chad & Moz as a pair?
?
