All the more reason the crucify the little turd when he eventually has a bad game.Sounds like Sterlo wasn’t particularly impressed with Brown’s comments earlier in the week either.
Eels legend Peter Sterling has voiced his distaste over Dylan Brown’s comments regarding his next rugby league contract talks.
During the week, Brown told reported he will “go fishing” and listen to offers from other clubs when he becomes a free agent as of November 1, which Sterling took exception to.
“The last thing we should be talking about now is money,” Sterling told Triple M.
“He had a really good debut last week and the club have looked after him.
“I would like to think that those sorts of conversations would come a little further down the track.
Blake Austin was an established first grader when he decided to take this stance.”
Brown is one game into what will potentially be a glittering rugby league career, with reports suggesting he is set to earn in excess of $3 million when he negotiates his next contract.
Brown is signed until the end of 2020, but is free to negotiate at the end of this season, however Sterling felt he was wrong to publicly voice his plans in the manner he did so early into his first grade career.
I understand the nature of the beast and how it’s a business but I was still disappointed,” Sterling said.
“Having said that if you are asked a question you answer it and that is obviously what Dylan did.
“I didn’t like the fishing component that was mentioned in there.
“But I would like to think when the time comes to be making decisions that he will consider where he got a start and who has been looking after him the last couple of years, but I do have a vested interest obviously.”
