AKA the "CliffyIsGod and c_eagle talk about music" thread.

I have been listening to copious amounts of The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, Arcade Fire, Q and not U and Godspeed You Black Emperor.

You rate c? Any cool bands you wanna share in the best genre of all.

Yes, Iron and Wine are awesome.

I prefer Ben's lyrics in Postal Service, but I like the guitars in Deathcab. Sometimes the synth and computer beats in the Postal Service sound a bit too pacman-esque.

Great thread Cliffy. I really like Arcade Fire, Postal Service, DCFC and I'm an occasional Godspeed! listener.

Atm, I've got The Boy Least Likely to and Architecture in Helsinki playing nonstop. You should check out Pinback (fortress), Death From above 1979 (little girl) and Broken Social Scene (almost crimes) just because of their universal coolness.

I have heard some Architecture in Helsinki, thoroughly impressed with them.

I got the Go! Team album the other day -- it was okay, a bit too dancy for me, though.

Check out:
The New Pornographers
My Morning Jacket
The Decemberists

The Go! Team album is an acquired taste, I like it but I definitely won't be going to see them in concert (pretty sure they're at the metro soon.) I will be seeing bloc party though, they are so awesome.

I have acquired that taste, and will be in attendance on July 26th at the Metro. You should reconsider Guy.

Bands I rate at the moment:

* Arcade Fire - "Funeral" one of my fave 20 albums ever - simply outstanding.
* The Mountain Goats - love the song "Palmcorder Yajna". New album is sounding great.
* Spoon - second best album of the year thus far (Gimme Fiction) - incredibly catchy. also see Kill The Moonlight)
* The Shins - just saw "Garden State" - falling for them all over again.
* Iron & Wine - the "Woman King" EP is OUTSTANDING. a must get.
* ...Trail of Dead - rate the new album, keep being told it is not as good as their old stuff.
* Eels - new album is great :)
* Doves, Gomez, Turin Brakes - all great live. Seeing Doves in July.

Tried getting into Interpol, Postal Service, My Morning Jacket, et al - just not my thing...

Spoon's album is really swell, yep.

The Shins are wow. Garden State is also wow.

AYKUBTTOD's new album sucks so much, seriously. Their last album is like umm, the matrix and their new one is like matrix 3.

The new Eels album is awesome, almost as good as Electro Shock blues.

Didn't the Doves cancel their tour?

Iron & Wine is great. Sam Beam is a freak. He's composed 2 brilliant EPs and 2 brilliant full length albums in a little over 2 years. He's prolific and it's absolute quality, not quantity.

Great list Alex.
