Instead we'll watch Rogers give away 2-3 penalties, contribute little to any sort of play making, make couple missed or ineffective tackles, drop balls and apply a poor at best kicking game.

Then hear how well he did.

But surely even the great man himself couldn't produce back to back games like that... Again.

I would be throwing a bit of coin this way

http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2009/07/04/95005_gold-coast-sport.html

He has a lot of skills including good kicking game, a goal kicker, good leadership skills, good organisational skills and a very solid defender. His only drawback is his lack of pace but would be slightly quicker than Dureau. I doubt he would cost much.

He played well last year when he came in for Prince when he was injured.

Is he a halfback or 5/8? (or is he a Finch type who does fine playing at either spot)

Have heard good things about Davis as well :)

Plays mainly 5/8 but slots in at 1/2 easily. He played at 1/2 for the Titans when Prince was injured and filled in pretty well.

He would fit in well for a couple of years before we can develop a long term solution.

A mate of mine played Queensland Cup last year (and was under scholarship with the Titans the year before they entered the NRL) and rates him as well. Have heard worse ideas around here to be honest. I still think there could be some merit in looking in to Brett Seymour though - get him out of the temptations of Sydney (and Brisbane before that) in to a smaller community like Newcastle and he might be a different guy...

Davis or Seymour should be our options to go for next year although Seymour who would be a better option would cost more coin. Both are much better options than Dureau or Rogers.

Come on Serc...it is no coincidence that he has either not appeared in our best performances, or has appeared in our best performances yet not played 80 minutes in those games (being substituted for Rogers)?

Again...not saying Rogers is the answer either but it's easy for non-Knights fans to come here saying he is an immense talent when they don't watch him week-in/week-out. If you think of the halves that have bolted on to the scene over the last few years then faded away (think Head, Firman, et al) he hasn't even looked as good as them, let alone a regular first grade halfback.

He might have been the greatest junior in the world but he is out of his depth in first grade.

After tonights efforts Id rather see Mullen 7 Wicks 6 before I would want Rogers back in the halves again. He is a dead set hack

I really dont rate any of them highly enough to want to splash something at them. All seroiusness Dureau can do it he really can he just doesnt have 3 seasons to show that he can, he has to show us now show us quickly he can hold down that 7 spot or he'll definately leave and we'll have to hack seeing Rogers do garbage.

I want your crystal ball CJG because you were spot on champ.

Rogers needs to be out of the halves yesterday. He only looked good when he ran straight tonight, was woeful any other time.

Rogers was average - but he was very close to doing the one thing that Dureau does competently - a 40/20. If he masters that he does everything Dureau can.

We can all agree that neither are the answer and we need to face some reality and get some experience in the position?

No Dureau has been solid this year and is so much better than Rogers

Should never of lost that game.

Where did I say that Dureau has always been in the team when we have played our best?

I was just pointing out to a guy that wouldn't visit this forum much that most of us on here don't mind him, and a minority think he is horrible.

You said that not all of us think that he is sh*t. On the contrary some think that he is THE sh*t. I was just pointing out that he is neither really. He's just inappropriate for the team, and the fact that he can not secure the halfback position on a permanent basis indicates that people within the Knights think that as well.
