hmm.. i like your thinking, but i don't think its up to Hellsy to go out and seek people to join the club - they should be seeking her.

rocking up to an anti Fitzgerald rally and handing out forms would show definate affiliation to one side, whereas her aim was only ever to give more people an opportunity to become members!

(shoot me if im speaking out of turn Hells)

While I am not your sister, I also think Hellsy spoke about this in the Join the Football Club Thread, someone asked for 100 forms to be given out, for tomorrow, yet Hellsy reminded them that all forms require 2 original signatures to be accepted.

Yeah see thats a problem right there, 2 original signitures to become a member of a footy club where on tv they are promoting 09 memberships of your club.

Memberships should be a no brainer - join get to cast your vote the following year or even that year waiting 3 years is a joke ...

Yeah but I was looking through some of those 09 Memberships, and some of the big ones also don't make you a "Voting Member" of a Football club, unlike souths or the like who do. Either way these are the rules that are in play at the moment.

i don't mind the waiting period tbh - it gets you involved with the club for 3 whole years before giving you a chance to make decision's relating to it. it's like being on p plates!

I don't think the rally is a good opportunity to sign people up to be honest.

I'm not sure that people choosing to attend the rally will be the people most likely to have thought through what they want for the future of the club enough to be ready to fill in forms, pay $25 for three years in a row and wait the time to become voting members.

I agree that the club - not the people on this forum - should be doing more to promote the various types of memberships (FC, LC, STH, B&GA, RegE etc) that are available to fans and supporters. But I'm not sure the rally is attracting anyone that has thought things through more than an "oust Fitzy and everything will be automatically fine" mentality?

But we all know why the club hasn't promoted football memberships, don't we?

Ok, do you respect Peter Sterling as what he has done ??

Sow when you hear him say, " Get Your Front Office Right then everything else will flow "

why do you think he says that, We also have the statue and Ray Price issue of how blatantly he holds his own issues with him before anything else at the club.

Ray Price is an old school kinda guy, you do not have to agree with everything that he or anyone else has done, but ... if he wants to get involved with the club at some level .. then why not let him, why not let any of the others get involved.

Our club needs fresh new vision ... 22 years on won nothing won nothing won nothing .....

I thought that was Jack Gibson?

I'm not sure the rally is about fresh vision, and who to elect to the footy club board? It was promoted in the paper as an "oust Fitzy" rally - something I know can't result from a rally anyway, since he has an employment contract.

Personally I'm leaning toward voting toward some new candidates in the coming elections, as well as probably one or two old ones because the Board composition shouldn't be all-or-nothing but the best mixture. But all that's got nothing to do with this rally organised by a non-member, after being egged on by a radio host...

It started as a media play-thing, and that's all it will be in my opinion. Get involved tomorrow at your own peril.

Wasn't that Jack Gibson that said that?

Who? Sorry can you clear this up, who holds his own issues with him before anything else at the club?

Ray Price is an old school kinda guy, you do not have to agree with everything that he or anyone else has done, but ... if he wants to get involved with the club at some level .. then why not let him, why not let any of the others get involved.

Who is stopping Ray getting involved? Was it not Ray who said he would not be involved at the club while Denis was there? As far as I know there is no Bar or impediment to stop Ray Price turning up at Parramatta Eels NRL training or on game Day. I believe there was a time when Brian Smith didn't want him around. I also remember there was a time last year after a game that Ray Price was allowed into the Eels Dressing rooms to speak with the players.

Our club needs fresh new vision ... 22 years on won nothing won nothing won nothing .....

Yep 22 years and we haven't won a first grade /NRL premiership.

I think the waiting period is good and there for a reason, example- at this years AGM 5000 people could turn up pay and vote, remove the current board and put in new people, next year comes around and only 50 of those 5000 renew thier membership.
Thats why the 3year waiting period is in place, at a cricket club i played with years ago we changed the by laws at a AGM to only let people who have been members/players of the club for 3 years elected as office bearers. Due to another local club having 12players from a defunct club turn up to their AGM and take over the club voting all the current office bearers out and putting them selves in.

I am a voting member. Have been for four years..Is it possible to cast a proxy? I live in the bush and won't be at the AGM..
Denis Fitzgerald would get MY vote. You can't blame Fitzy for the deeds of the players..He doesn't miss tackles or bomb tries. He doesn't get out on the piss and misbehave. He tells it like it is, and that gets up people's noses.
He is not a YES man, and you can't buy experience...

I think we will find out soon if Proxies are allowed. Perhaps after this afternoons Ballot Order Draw at the Leagues Club Foyer starting at 5:00 PM

I also remember there was a time last year after a game that Ray Price was allowed into the Eels Dressing rooms to speak with the players.quote]

MITS this no attack against you....

"Allowed" That's the problem right there. A 4 time Premiership Legend should be able to come in whenever he wants to help motivate the team. Being Allowed is insulting.

Our club is being run by the same people for way too long who have no passion or have who have lost the passion. They have taken things for granted while on their big pay cheques.

Our club.... well It's been sterilised of Passion and heart and that starts with the CEO and the Board. All the talk of being professional is crap. I'd swap all that "professional" 22 years for a Premiership.

That is not what I was saying. If supposedly he is locked and bard from this club, at all. How did he get into the dressing room to talk with the Players? Also the players need privacy, the coaching staff know when they need a rev up or not. I would not expect a 4 time Premiership Player to want to walk in and speak to the players uninvited before a game unless the Coach has asked him to do so.

Honestly, I can respect your opinion, but to tell me these men are not Passionate about our club, our team or the game of rugby league, is something I can't cop, from my experiences with them.
