The point MITS is making is that if you read the media reports and the seemingly misguided paranoia by many on here Price is barred from having anything to do with the club. There isn't any "allowed" about it. If Price wants to be involved there isn't anything to stop him, same goes for any other legend of the club.

no one should be able to or should have the right to come into the dressing sheds whenever they want unless they are current playing or coaching staff. if part of the coach's strategy is to motivate players by using past legends or if the players themselves want a rev up from a past great it's there business. if someone just walked into the sheds before a game and started ranting on it could be disruptive to a team's preparation.

personally if it were up to me i would try get our former players involved but i can understand why some coaches wouldn't (in 01 brian made a somewhat valid point that the current crop of players wouldn't even know who our premiership winning greats were so the effect of using them for motivation would be lost on them).

I wouldn't mind doing that to be honest...

The club should plan some screenings - on a big screen in the under-used auditorium - for fans, alongside an interview the legends series. I'd probably even pay a fiver each time if they did it four times through the year, one for each DVD.

No you are exactly correct. I am not going to stand at the rally and hand out forms to people who are protesting.... I dont want anything to do with the protest TBH.....

While I am not your sister, I also think Hellsy spoke about this in the Join the Football Club Thread, someone asked for 100 forms to be given out, for tomorrow, yet Hellsy reminded them that all forms require 2 original signatures to be accepted.

Correct. And currently all my forms are at work, I have none on me @ home to distribute even if I wanted to.

Yeah see thats a problem right there, 2 original signitures to become a member of a footy club where on tv they are promoting 09 memberships of your club.

Memberships should be a no brainer - join get to cast your vote the following year or even that year waiting 3 years is a joke ...

I think you will find that 09 memberships is actually Season Ticket Membership... whilst alot of clubs offer footy club membership with the ST's I have found that Parra are the only club that refer to membership as such as being a member of the footy club, everyone else classes it as a STH.

Whilst I think that the "rally" is an absolute wank and will achieve nothing thus don't plan on attending, as a voting member I would be happy to turn up if only to sign peoples membership forms as a nominator or seconder. I don't think the rally is a good opportunity to sign people up to be honest.

I'm not sure that people choosing to attend the rally will be the people most likely to have thought through what they want for the future of the club enough to be ready to fill in forms, pay $25 for three years in a row and wait the time to become voting members.

I agree that the club - not the people on this forum - should be doing more to promote the various types of memberships (FC, LC, STH, B&GA, RegE etc) that are available to fans and supporters. But I'm not sure the rally is attracting anyone that has thought things through more than an "oust Fitzy and everything will be automatically fine" mentality?

You'd think it is the club's favour not to promote membership drives as that may dilute the board's control over the current members who re-elect them each year.

I personally let my membership lapse unfortunately so I probably can't complain about the current situation, of which I am keen to see a new direction.
