 @ the Saab bashing.

Maybe you guys should stick to what you do best and go back and dig up old posts from 2006?

By the by it wouldn't offend me at all if somebody Qld born chose to support NSW. As long as they continued to support them then I wouldn't call them a dog or anything along those lines.

Like RHCP, I'd be looking for players to put their hands up in CvC before considering anyone a lock for Origin.

another strong game from blake ferguson.
He's got to be in the talk for the SOO team, and an absolute special for CvC

Gordon has been great the last few weeks, he probably is doing what is required to hold his spot now though. With uate on the other side.

Geez i wished Gordon played in a decent team with decent halves, he would be a superstar.

25 Hit ups for 287m, 5 Tackle Breaks, 4 Offloads, 1 Line Break in a losing side against one of the comp's best teams.

Houston apparently made 37 tackles and 123 metres today for the Knights + he's already been 18th man for the Blues.

I'm biased but I think he'd make a very good front/back row bench replacement.

Hopefully the NSW selectors are brighter then Matt Elliott and see just how much Michael Gordon has to offer at fullback. At the very least he needs to be rotated in the role with Hayne. But on form since Flash was moved to fullback, he has been far better then Hayne and I don't think he has been outplayed by his opposite once. Even in badly beaten teams.

If he gets moved back to the wing Matt Elliott should be f8cking shot. I can't believe he even tries to get Simmons and Earl at fullback with Flash there. Neither are as reliable and often f*ck our momentum up.

Hayne needs to pull his head in. Unless he learns to play tough and cop a bit of niggle instead of having a sook when he can't get a penalty every time he is tackled then I'm happy if they leave him out.

I still can't believe we are going to need City v Country to help selectors pick the best 17 players going round after 10 weeks of NRL competition. Queenslanders pissing themselves laughing again.

That's a solid lineup in positions 1 to 5. Actually, that's a pretty good lineup all in all -- there's nobody there who really doesn't deserve to be there.

I'd probably swap Hunt out for Watmough because I think there are enough new players in that team already, and Watmough has always stepped up for Origin.

Starting Gidley at hooker and bringing Farah on later is a nice touch. Gidley can soak up the initial fireworks then Farah can slot in once the pace of the game settles down a bit.

The other issue I worry about with all the teams posted so far is who's going to play left centre.

As far as I know, Gasnier and Idris regularly play on the right and I think Origin is hard enough without having to master an unfamiliar position. Left centre vs. right centre may not sound like much of a difference, but it does mean that the centre will have to pass the opposite direction to his winger, step off the other foot, carry the ball in the other hand, etc.

If Gasnier or Idris has played left centre before and excelled at it then that's fine. If not, I would rather pick a specialist left centre than force one of those two to suddenly learn to adapt to the opposite side of the field.

I think the only time somebody should be played out of his regular position in Origin is when a fullback plays on the wing, and even then only if he's had experience in that position (which is often the case, since many fullbacks seem to start their NRL careers on the wing). Apart from that, either pick a player in his best position or don't pick him at all.

I must admit i haven't seen a lot of Farah and Ennis this year so unsure who is the front runner for the Hooker role.

Idris is quite obviously a front runner for a centre spot.
Agreed on Gidley.
Mullen is NSW's form half.
Agreed on 4.
Agreed, on form a benchie at best.
Hunt has a great workload and is a less hyped version of Mannah.
