Drown made 179 m last night from 17 runs, in a side going pretty average. Don't see why anyone wants him gone. Yeah he aren't an elite "7" just yet, but he does ok in the halves as a play maker, definitely can improve.

But he is also one of the best defenders there, and get him with an overlap more often or with some space, he will be one of he best 5/8's in the comp.

Reckon if any fan told Ryles we should push Drown out, he would go, "you have no idea"......very politely..

Brown could be an elite 5/8 he just isn't coached well.

Got nothing to do with his coaching, he is coached fine. It's about getting him in situations where there is an over lap / space. That is nothing to do with his coaching, he is already prepared to run.

As a side, the coach needs to create those situations and generally that happens from middle winning the ruck (think touch footy, , how that is played) which we don't do much any more.

That's crap... 100% to do with coaching..

How do you think the team gets into situations to have an overlap...

Also he isn't being used effectively as he runs at centres second rowers all game.. How does Munster make most of his breaks by stepping back in and beating slow forwards down the guts or getting early ball. All coach.

That's crap! So Drown needs to create overlaps on his own? And haven't you seen Drown step back into the middle (does it all the time, even scored in the sharks game doing it) But it's no use if the opposition middle isn't tired or there is no space! He is only going to get smashed!

So this is the current top 30 based on current positions and contracts for 2025 (18-30 are 1-13 in Cup)

1 Clint Gutherson
2 Zac Lomax
3 Will Penisi
4 Blaze Talagi
5 Maika Siva
6 Dylan Brown
7 Mitchel Moses
8 Junior Paulo
9 Brendan Hands
10 Regan Campbell Gillard
11 Shaun Lane
12 Bryce Cartwright
13 J'main Hopgood
14 Matthew Arthur
15 Charlie Guymer
16 Ryan Matterson
17 Sam Tuivaiti
18
19 Haze Dunster
20 Sean Russell
21 Toni Mataele (Second Rower here for Numbers)
22
23 Josh Lynn
24
25 Wiremu Greig
26 Joey Lussick
27 Joe Ofahengaue
28 Matt Doorey
29 Saxon Pryke
30 Luca Moretii

Development Players
Arthur Miller Stephens
Richard Penisini
Jock Brazel

By my counts we have a backup Fullback spot, a backup Winger Spot and a backup half spot up for grabs.

If we don't retain Blaze, then we open up a Winger / Centre spot.
If we could offload Lusick you would need 3/4 of a NSW CUP level / Backup spine.

I wouldn't be upset if we offered Bailey Simmonsen a deal in the bottom 13 (NSW Cup list)

Also with Ethyn Martin coming back from a Hamstring (hopefully soon) we might see him retained. I like him as he has some toe and the first time I saw him he was running over blokes in Jersey Flegg.

A MO means Dunster can take it up but at a reduced price, meaning he’d still be wasting a spot in the top 30
Wouldn't be a contract at Parra without some option being offered be it a PO or a MO.

I wonder if Ryles has autonomy over this moving forward weather or not these options will be offered to players under his regime.

He can't control whats currently in place but anything moving forward if they get offered.

Clearly BA didn't give it a shit he wanted to sneak in coaches clauses into Lomax's contract.

Absolutely ridiculous. Was this contract signed after his injury?? He’s only ever been a fringe first grader ffs!!

Haze has a MO. So we can chop him.

or better, move him outside the 30 on a second tier deal adding a year for a bit of secuirty? ....just take him out of the 30, I know it's not all his fault but he's been stinking up a spot for about 3 years.

It was signed before he got injured - December 2021.

He got injured in Trials 2022

But still it was a long contract for a bloke who played 13 games and looked a solid player but not a Jarryd Hayne/Krisnan Inu potential superstar in his 1st season

But, but our HOF has been to Harvard and NRL and has multiple degree qualifications, obviously smarter than those at other clubs to agree to all these options.
