The Ricky Stuart myth

The gang bang issue was unimportant
Cumulative effect with all the other crap at the time. Someone listed the issues at the Sharks in that year, none were Stuart's fault.
Your club has not recruited wisely in players or coaching staff
Sticky has. For the trillionth time, the squad he has was assembled by Kearney.

The role of the coach is to achieve the best results with the squad he has at any point in time through improvement
Maybe he has. This years squad is worse than last years. Hayne has improved, and so had Sandow before he was dropped for non playing issues.

9 players have had their first grade debut this year. Thats not improvement for them?

I do not see improvement at parra
As a whole, you are right. The reasons have been outlined ad-nauseum. Continue to ignore thm and blame Sticky though.

When Ricky left Easts they were not an improved squad than when he inherited them
He took them from 6th to a premiership, and 2 GF's after that.
Ditto at the sharks
He took Cronulla from 13th to equal first in his first 2 years.

His record is ultimately the same as national and state coach
Won a comp at Easts, Equal first in MP with Cronulla, won tri nations and Origin series.
You seem to be saying a coach cannot have the effect of engineering improvement

That only recruitment can produce improvement
Which he has done ffs..........

That Ricky needs outside players coached by others to make an improvement
How can players be coached by others? As you said, recruitment will produce improvement.

Many coaches have inherited a poor squad and made improvement with what they have
Such as?

In saying that Good coaches tend to be held on to by clubs[/QUOTE]Sometimes for too long. Us and Brian Smith. Despite what you think, Kearney is not a good coach.

It's fair to say neither Easts nor the sharks were slitting their wrists at the prospect of Ricky moving on
Nor were they slitting wrist at the successes either. Which were better than anyone at easts since Gibson and Cronulla since John Lang.

It is unbelievably stupid to think we should have kept Steve Kearney :lol:

?????

I don't know what point you are trying to make?

If a team improves post Stuart then that is not exactly a vindication of Stuart

In fact it is the opposite

You said
When Ricky left Easts they were not an improved squad than when he inherited them
And I said not many coaches do

While Sticky blames the refs and everyone but himself, he's not going to have any success at Parra. I'm enjoying this troubling period for Parra immensely.

You have trouble comprehending dogspile?
I'm saying des left manly in good shape
He has trouble comprehending lots of things. Like why people dont share his AFL love on this site.

Like no one at Manly ever whinges -Matai was whinging for 3 weeks after he ran 30m to get smacked by Allgood.

As for Manly coaches - plenty of cement trucks and door hinges because of coaches meltdowns over referees at Brooky mate!

Manly win premierships, the whinging becomes irrelevant. Parra don't, the whinging becomes a much larger part of what they do.

I like the part where Ricky keeps picking Ben Roberts.

I was sitting at the game with a Parra supporting mate last night and after one of Roberts' many mistakes, I said to him "how does he manage to play 1st grade?" and my mate just shrugged his shoulders and shook his head.

Mate we had to put up with duds that this bloke recruited. I don't like Stuart at all (Brian Smith should still be coaching) but at least he's not this bloke.

It doesn't explain why your 500k recruit is languishing in reserve grade, while Ben Roberts continues to give first grade footballers everywhere a bad name.

Sticky would be better off picking his mother in law, she's probably more skilful

with sandow going through personal issues, just like barba earlier in the year, we have no other options princess.

Our 2nd HB (arguably our first) Luke Kelly is injured which means we must resort to our 3rd choice.

Do you actually watch games?

BTW, ricky is a direct descendant of adolf hitler.

warm the oven.

Not all of Parras current problems are Rickys fault but so far he has shown nothing to prove he is any better than Kearney.

That may change in 2014, but for now what he offers to this club is far from obvious.

Have you seen our recruits for next year? Did you see Kearney's recruits?

Just STFU and enjoy your love for AFL and lifting shirts with Doggylife.
