The Ricky Stuart myth

who claimed he was a supercoach? he will most likely be caught out to be bog average next year and 2015 but f**k me if we improve, as a parra fan id take it.

and he obviously isnt beyond criticism, he is getting slammed left right and centre. The part in bold is probably the closest thing you typed to being right.

The media coined him "super coach"

Didnt this guy successfully follow Sticky?

Anthony%20Tupou%20(WinCE)1.jpg

And you are correct can not wait until Kearney takes some of his favourite Eels players to the Broncos with him...

Successfully? He was on massive money and a long term deal to be at the Sharks.

Money was more influential than Sticky. Sticky also turned the superstar into a dud.
He is only starting to play well again these last two years.

400k a season on a 4yr deal?

Stuart turned him into a dud? No accountability for the player himself? Sweet deal for him

I reckon a few Eels fans would have been singing a different tune after they won in round 1.

How quickly things change

Parramatta need Chris Waller as coach, look how many winners he trained this season,if you can coach a horse then surely you can coach a human.

Actually. why isn't this thread also directed at the coaches of the Tigers, Panthers, Saints and Cowboys. Their rosters are vastly superior and they are hardly setting the ladder on fire, not that it matters as Sticky is an easy target.

Don't other fans love the hammer the Eels, bit like Man Utd and the soccer fans I guess

 Only an Eels fan would try and draw parallels between their rabble and Manchester United

1. Everyone, even Dragons fans, know that Price is a shit coach with no chin
2. Cowboys coach has been sacked already
3. Panthers are only 3 points out of the 8 and have shown significant improvement throughout the year. Their recruitment has also been significantly better then the Eels (Soward excluded)
4. Mick Potter is having his position reviewed at the end of the year
5. The point of this thread is that Ricky is not as good a coach as the media, and Parra fans judging by your responses, is made out to be. People are trying to point out that he is a shit coach.
6. In his last 3 seasons of coaching, Ricky has won 13 from 60 for a 21.67% win rate
7. League fans like to hammer Manly and Souths a hell of a lot more then Parra
8. Soccer fans don't like Man Utd because of their success. Parra haven't won a comp in 27 years.

Penrith also have easily the worst injury toll for the season and were picked as wooden spooners by most 'experts'.

This thread is stupid. It's Ricky's first year with us and he's been left with some complete rubbish he has to clean up. There are some good signings on the way next year. Judge him by the end of 2014 when Parra are playing finals footy and the Bulldogs are on Mad Monday.

I can't wait until the end of next year when Ricky's riding home a third wooden spoon for the Eels and their deluded fans are telling anyone that'll listen that Ricky has a 'five year plan and he has to be given that opportunity.'

Let's face it. The bloke doesn't know how to develop underperforming players, and he has one of the worst recruiting records in recent memory. I recall fondly all of his talk at Cronulla about how we were just a 'few good signings' away from success... only to go into the player market and buy duds like Corey Hughes and Adam Cuthbertson and then throw away $200k on Karl Filiga.

Good luck Parramatta. It's all downhill from here.

Dogslife,

I take my hat off to you. This thread has been superb - #315 posts and still going strong.

Well done!

Exactly. At the start of the year he sold Eels fans the same sob story he sold NSW fans two years ago. The "it's going to take time/We have a plan in place/I'll be happy to win one game this year" story is a little played I think, and he took the Parramatta job before he ever saw that plan through with NSW.

But what do I care if Parramatta go through another year of irrelevance in this competition, their fans don't seem to mind
