The Ricky Stuart myth

Sorry but I don't buy any of this "bad squad" bs. Ricky has a team of footballers to work with and is getting paid $800k a year to do something with them. It's obvious that from the word go, he'd given up on 2013 which is not good enough imo. Parramatta members deserve to at least be treated to some sort of effort from the squad when they show up to watch a game. If they genuinely try each week and come up short, then you can pull the "not good enough" excuse. When they show up without the effort and the excuses pre loaded, that's a joke.

When you rest your best player for three months because he's done a hammy... That's a disgrace. Parramatta fans are being taken for granted this year and you should all be blowing up deluxe.

Would you consider swapping your players for ours? He inherited a f**king mess, and has recruited decent players for '14. He has blooded a handful of good juniours after a horrendous injury toll. We were 3/9 to start the year. After he tapped the players on the shoulder, they have shut up shop. How many of those players have since signed for a rival club or ESL??? Maybe chase Blair??? Whats that say about our current crop of players???? He is a legend in my books for clearing the deadwood players alone. For far too long, our players have had it easy, and shown no pride in their jersey.

About time we have a coach with balls, and that will command results.

Thanks for the advice about how to handle a sh*t season. Coming from experience huh?

Unlike your experience, we know we will improve without having to wait 40 years.

I also didnt know you were a doctor. And why would you rush a player back to get flogged for pointless results when you have the option of getting him exaclty right for next year?

I understand Loudy looking towards next season - after all what other choice do Parramatta fans have?

I was watching Parramatta against the Bulldogs and they were f**king woeful. Worse than they were last year. How many teams can you name that won the wooden spoon one year and were actually worse the following year?
Their must be a fog of thickness outside the Eels supporters group. You do realise we have a worse squad this year than we did last year? We replaced Hindy and Justin Poore with f*cking Lussick and Harrison. We signed Tonga on big $ for f*ck knows what reason. We didnt replace Luke Burt. We have a sh*thouse injury run, and have had to blood 9 new first graders. You know this, because I explained this in my last post.

Can you collective mob of genii explain to me exactly how any of that is f*cking Rickey Stuarts fault?????????????

On the plus side if they can get a decent coach they have the formula of a good team there. They have blooded some youngsters who will only improve for the experience (look at the Roosters in 2011 and 2012) - if they can grab a couple of extra players from somewhere and then get a decent assistant to help Ricky they could turn things around. They need a good prop and another gun second rower.
Which is exactly what they have done ffs!!!!!!!!!!!!! ](*,)

I don't like Ricky or his very odd recruitment history. Having said that it is just plain stupid to be judging him on this year, or next for that matter.

Wouldn't matter who took on Parra's squad this year, same shit would be happening.

I hope Parra start to bounce back next year, the game needs all 16 clubs to be competitive

Honest question to Parramatta supporters?

With this clean out happening, what will your starting 1-17 look like at best guess?

And should I tip them for the spoon again for the third year in a row? I'm 2/2 so far.

Edit: That was a serious question. I tried so f**king hard not to dig the boot in at the end there. I tried so hard not to be a dick about it. I just couldn't do it. It's just too f**king hard. I'm sure you all understand - you must be used to it by now after all.

Edit Edit: f**k. I did it again. Sorry.

Oh I get it Loudy - it's just amazing that a team can go from pants to worse after getting a spoon.

I hope Parra have someone who is a brilliant recruitment officer. Remember this is the man that told Politis to go for Brett Finch instead of Jonathan Thurston.

Ricky is good at the fire and brimstone and play your guts out stuff, but he just doesn't seem to me to get the best out of a group as a whole. His teams at the Roosters and Sharks before Parra were the same.

My comments on the prop and second rower, I meant on top of who you've already got. If you can have a dominating pack then Sandow can shine. I still think he's got the ability to get the job done. If you have Norman at five eighth playing the steadying influence it might be alright.

Who is Parra's new assistant to Ricky?

Ricky Stuart is a dud. Rode off the coat tails of Gould, Murray and uncle nick at his 6" missed gimme putts at the rorters but has been an unmitigated disaster since. What makes it even worse is he plays a boring, grinding style of football. He's a f**king joke and how any club could pay the fool 800 large a year is a mystery. He must be a conman of Peter foster proportions

Everyone was avoiding Thurston at the time, except the Cowpats, who would have taken Clive Palmer at half.

Didnt Sticky bring you Brett Mullins and Adrian Morley?

The Rosters coaching improved vastly after he left. You must have been thrilled with the way Chris Anderson and Brad Fittler panned out.

Mannah, Fui and Allgood isnt a bad rotation.

FFS what is wrong with Matt Parish now?

Morley's first year at the roosters was 2001. Stuart began as head coach in 2002.

Mullins started in 2002 , but he could have been signed by the previous admin.

Besides , you talk about Mullins like he was a superstar signing , he was at the end of his career and a shadow of his former self.

Played wing after being forced out of fullback by Luke Philips. But he did score a decent amount of tries.

As I recall Mullins was an off season signing. And he was great at he Roosters.

FFS If Sticky had been the Dragons coach from 56-66 you'd still be convinced that he was sh*t

He was good , but still a shadow of his former self. Played a solid finishing role from what I remember.

The point is the roosters weren't exactly competing with heaps of other clubs for his signature , he had just spent a year in super league .

I actually think Stuart might just be a good coach , in the right conditions .

That's a two to three year stint at a club close to winning it all.

But he is IMO a terrible option for rebuilding a club.

If you could pick one known coach who could make a bad club worse it would be Ricky Stuart.

The vast majority of coaches who take over a 1st grade squad take over a squad that is not what they would pick themselves. The coaches job is to get the best out of that team regardless. Doesn't matter if you have a 3, 5 or 10 year plan. You still have to give your fans something to follow for this week.

Most fans have some knowledge of the game. You can look at a team and tell if its going to be competitive or if it will be shit. I've followed some shit teams in my time but it made it easier as a fan, to turn up in support if the team showed that they were playing to the best of their ability. At least they were living up to their side of the bargain.

Parramatta aren't living up to their side of the bargain and Stuart is entirely to blame. It's his job to get the best out of the team. Even if their best is still sub par. Yes they are a shit team but they are also playing well below what they are capable of. They shouldn't be as terrible as they are.
