Nigel Plum is going to the roosters next season.

His mother told informed mine and she told me.

Unit, you had massive wraps on him on the official forum last year, why, in your opinion, has he not been given a run in FG this year? To tell you the truth, I've never seen him play.

Don't worry, watch for young Bryan Dickson who at the moment is switching betwen FC and P/L at the Tigers. Dickson hits hard and doesn't miss tackles.

That's a shame I have heard some big wraps on him. But its going to happen and will probably happen more in the future if we are more successful. We have a number of good young backrowers and not all of them are going to stay if they can get first grade chances at another club. But the Roosters probably wasn't the best team to go to if he wants to play first grade.

Its a pity to loose Plummy I thought he had very good potential to make it into the top grade obviously Sheens didn't agree :?

Good to see I'm not the only person who has raps on this kid ;-)

Wrong phil. It's not that sheens didn't agree, it's that either Sticky, Goose or Big Artie DID agree.

Yeah its the sign of the times yet again where the roosters go steal the talent that other clubs develop.......again, no wonder they spent a million on PL and flegg over the season.

It's not all the Roosters fault that they don't have a massive junior base... don't get me wrong, I hate them as much as the next guy, but you can blame them for being in rah-rah territory.

It's not like we have a team full of juniors running around in FG. The only real juniors we have playing for us are, Hodgo,Bucketts and Big Skando. We can hardly throw stones, so to speak.

But then it comes down to money, and when you have James Packer and Nick Politis on your board, money is a non-issue. If they had "nobodys" on their board, I'm sure they would've been forced to merge, or would've died many, many years ago. Probably before Newtown?

Why are they spending all this money when they could go get themself soem pride and look a redeveloping their junior league, pull some clubs back from souths, or norths or whoever, they've been using that excuse for too long now.

Hey, I'm not Roosters sympathetic or anything. I have hated them forever, and nothing has changed. i just think that before we go talking about other teams juniors we should look at how many we have playing FG for us.

Yeah, i understand that and can see why but they've been doing it forever whereas we have made an effort to develop our own youngsters with the rewards showing now......Halatau, Harrison , Gibbs, Fulton, Farah and the batch below them too. The roosters simply go about it the wrong way. They put a huge emphasis on developing young kids but all too often its at the expense of another club who has developed that kid.

Fair enough mate.

Damn Roosters.

If they take those guys you've just mentioned...

Nigel is a great tackler and when he was playing group nine as teenager, he was an unbelievably talented attacker as well. He was playing lock then and would hit holes on a regular occurrence.

He was even compared to a young Menzies back then by many people. He was moved into the second row at wests, bulked up a bit, improved his defence a heap and had become a very consistent performer.

Its a shame he's going to the roosters, but I sure hope he gets a fair run over there, he can handle first grade I reckon.
