You would have to think that either Ravalawa or Feigai are on shakey ground, I would still like to see Lomax and Suli in the centers, Sloan at FB, even if we get Katoa he still needs early ball, not trying to chase a kick after 5 hit ups.

Interesting if indeed fact.

If it's Katoa from the Sharks then I assume this is a multi-faceted signing. Firstly, to play wing, which would necessitate a shift inward of a few players, or secondly to play fullback which shifts Sloan to the wing, which I think is his better position anyway. The third reason could be that Rava isn't right and probably won't ever be.

If it's the Katoa ex-from the Bulldogs then I would simply say wtf.

If you watched the Cronulla trial game they have got plenty of good backs that could come in and will be better than Katoa in a very short time
It’s just coaching. We probably have plenty of good backs as well but we are playing conservative, high completion, middle of the field football. Sharks are playing side to side, offloads, set plays and their backs are all doing their jobs, what they’re being coached to do.

rav to forwards ?
It's always fun to have a muscle bound, galloping Fijian on the side but Rav has terrible hands. He is a hard-hitter in defence but haven't we just come to expect a handling error when the ball is in the air or bouncing around near him. He'd probably make a good second rower but it would feel like moving a big risk into the middle of the field. If only he could catch the ball and hold onto it.

Why exactly would you think that?

I disagree, Ravalawa had terrible hands he has improved out of site, doesnt drop the ball or drop bombs he is pretty safe these days.

Yep they are and they look good too. Still remember watching live in the wet R3 last year where they put us to the sword playing dry weather football.
Although some questionable sin bins for Sua &? did not help our cause that night either

Just reading that Fitzgibbon's contract at the Sharks has been extended to the end of 2027. The head of their Board, Steve Mace, says that Fitzy will get the club another premiership.

Our Board on the other hand are still wondering should we or shouldn't we extend Hook for another 3 years?

The Sharks have the coach and the players and support of the Board to achieve their goal.

Because Katoa is a sheer out winger who would be better than either Feigai or Ravalawa, just the hard facts unfortunately.
For wingers to shine you need to have a dominant forward pack to pave the way and halves tgst can play off the back of that
Until we have that any money spent on a winger is waisted as ours are little more than battering rams.

100% agree OT, forwards are what we need and I'm glad Katoa is not coming, maybe some common sense will prevail

Rumour has it that

"All things come to those that wait"

Tragically in many cases it ends up being extinction.

Let's hope that we don't become part of that outcome.

Unfortunately, Josh Coric ruptured his ACL in the St Helens match and will be out for the entire 2023 season.
Holy mackerel, poor kid.
