It's beyond me that some players in our club are unable to understand that they are professionals and unaware of what's not acceptable behavior off the field on the drink or not however, it all comes back to the club.

They are a professional organisation and they are an embarrassment. How do you expect the players to understand what's acceptable when they see their coach get done for DUI and he continues to be employed.

Until the club makes changes to why they can't attract players and coaches to their organization nothing will change. Some heads have to roll but it won't happen.
Poor leadership is the problem.

Good post TruSaint.
I believe the board needs a overhaul, also i believe we need a new oach and a plyer clean out.
Now is the time to act.
If the management were capable in running a NRL club they should have realised when only 3 players turned up at the presentation night it was in crisis then.
I have always been a Dragons supporter and love it when they were on the tele.
I cant stand watching them at the moment. Thei players committment to the jumper has been piss poor for years now, and their style of play is basic and completely out of date.
We have been through all this before, you cant overhaul or get rid of the board, they are the owners, I wish they weren't but they are, and have made their jobs bullet proof.

I am amazed at the answer given by Rava that he was too drunk to remember what happened.

Surely someone would have told him to just apologise for causing a disturbance and leave it at that. Such an embarrassment as far as I am concerned and giving a not thinking before saying statement.

I agree with you Dave, but I'm really getting ticked at the media coverage this incident is getting, who cares to remember what Wrighton and Mitchell did, its all over and forgotten about. If the club is handling it then so be it, as long as they are reprimanded or fined which I think they have, then can we just stop dredging up all the other incidents as well. Ok if its a culture issue which it probably is, then its up to the whole Dragons organisation to fix it, not just the coach or the football manager but everyone, players included. I'd much rather be commenting on what the club has done or will do to move forward. As OT has said they are not the brightest tools in the shed so education and different forms of that is what is needed. I work with Fijians and Samoan's you are never going to stop the inbuilt flame of dislike between them, add alcohol to that and you have a ready made shit storm.

Did someone out there have an email address for Ryan Webb?

Feeling like it's time to make some noise on this side as the only thing we're getting from the club is bad news
You just did Lethal
Ryan reads these threads everyday , and you will get the usual limp dick response or defence from his of his bed wetter supporters on here .
Ryan started with plenty of promise , but like most others , has settled into the role of mediocrity and being hamstrung by our outdated , out of touch Board , whose only intention is to bring this once mighty Club to its knees

And now we get to enjoy a running commentary from the usual media hack journo's of Dragons tales (which will include each discretion over the past 18 months) in the search for a new coach. These media hacks will claim a "scoop" or "exclusive" story to justify their existence. Throw in a smattering of ex player opinions under the heading "League legend so and so" and you have one giant yawn!! God help me!

God doesn't listen to Dragon's supporters. Maybe try the dark side instead.

Jasus H Chrust ! The brains trust have only now decided to seek a replacement for the ‘ Man Who Never Was ‘ ? ?

Why oh why do these pack of morons do things so late ? They had a damn good idea last year that Griffin was not up to the task of creating a skilful team out of has-beens and young up and comers .

If you recruit players whom are in the twilight of their playing careers you must understand that they are set in their ways - their style of play and no amount of coaching will change them .

His only chance was to get the young guns plenty of game time , regardless of how many errors they may make and building confidence in them . Unfortunately that was not the case , he relied upon the skills (?) of the ancients which were all but dulled .

There are many reasons why he was doomed to fail , one of which was a million dollar a season half who was his state’s 1st choice hooker , but would not accept the same role for his club.

As said inexperienced younger players who required both mentoring and confidence so as their full potential was reached and of course a board who was stuck between the golden days of old and Gordon’s seemly non interest in just how his $6 million dollar investment was performing .

Apologises for being so long winded , however the poor chap never stood a chance of being remotely successful with all of those deficiencies stacked against him .

Exactly - "begins" - mwahahaha. Say no more!

I agree - paying a king's ransom for Hunt wasn't strategically wise, especially given the conditions (such as his choice of position) that he demanded. He's a freakishly good footballer but the scenario was much more nuanced than just 'we must have Hunt'. Then stacking the side with lots of old boys and stubbornly persisting with them despite poor performance was / is just so wrong.

Sure, we probably would have performed just as bad if not worse last year if we gave a heap of young guys a run but it was always the only way to go in terms of a medium-term rebuild. Hook was on the horns of a dilemma, that's for sure.

The fact that this side - Saint George ffs! (one of the greatest brands in sport) - has to 'rebuild' at all is testimony enough to the fact that the corporate structure just isn't right .
