We are very well stocked for backrowers. Our halves are settled. Our fullback looks settled. Our hooker is settled. We have some good young outside backs. I think we should make a massive play for Taupau or Pangai. Either one could be the ingredient to take us to a premiership next year.

Everything is in place except the main ingredient ............I'll get my coat.

You won't get either

No way in the world do Manly let Taupau go

Pangai has told everyone who has asked he is not leaving Brisbane

After realising that Pereira is only 20, I think he has a future at our club. Lomax obviously has a future too. That would be 2 spots taken, if McDonald goes back to Nth Qld too, then we would only need one more good centre and one more good winger. I am hoping Marsters can take one wing or centre spot, leaving only one spot left. I like the idea of Rapana on one wing. A backline of

1 Dufty
2 Pereira
3 Lomax
4 Marsters
5 Rapana
6 Widdop
7 Hunt

would look better than what we currently have right now.

Frank Pereira is 25 not 20

Gotcha ? Is this an admission that you are a troll?

After supporting the Dragons 40 something years, I wouldn’t have thought so.

(What’s YOUR claim to fame, pal?)

The “you’re not a true supporter (if you don’t fall into sycophantic line)” brigade are quite tiresome.

I just read an article on Zero Tackle suggesting that Merrin and Tamou are possibly on the market? Penrith certainly paid overs for both of them. We do need one more good prop on our roster, maybe two, as I don't rate Korbin Sims at all. I don't know if either of Merrin or Tamou are what we need.

I also read in the comments section of the article that Parra have signed Taupau.

I’d have Merrin back on the provision that he’d be used exclusively as a prop. The utterly stupid attempt to transform him into a lock has seriously curtailed his development.

Yeah, I would be fine with Merrin as one of our props, but as long as we aren't paying him the reported 700K a year that Penrith are. Merrin would be a lot better than Korbin Sims.

We have already signed korbin sims so we need to work with that.
Tariq has improved 100% since joining us, his brother may as well.

Merrin reminds me of Sharon Woods.....soft approach.

The “soft approach” began with the idiotic decision to turn him into a fancy, ball playing lock based on the premise on so called foot skills.

Merrin used to play his best football as a head down, bum up prop who could deliver quality offloads. Once upon a time, he used to be a massive ‘metre eater’

Those last two words are certain to evoke a response.

I’ll leave the “massive eater” quote alone, although he must be on the same diet as Jack Bird.

Surfice to say him and Tamou are the same, two really big blokes who don’t run hard, the difference being Merrin used to, Tamou never did.
