Lomax's play is hamstrung by the team's safety first mentality. No block plays, 2nd man plays or fullback sweeping into the backing helping to create overlaps. Better system would help unlock his potential. Too often he takes hit ups into the teeth of defence, never doubt his bravery! One of only 5 or 6 current players worth keeping. Hunt should be released immediately but NOT to the BRONCOS!

Are you sure about the $$. He did not start on that with this contract but backended you never know.
Unless you seen the deal. I remember some past and present players ribbing him about the $$$ he was on
And my point was just that Lomax is not going anywhere unless he wants to and he can get full salary elsewhere. We will be not propping up any other club and hurting our cap like the Tigers has done to offloading players not wanted.

I would go off what Flanno says and not Buzz. If Flanno wants him at the club then he will keep him. He may even get Hunt. For Flanno to have to clarify on 2GB within 24 hours of the story shows how reliable that story is. Why would Flanno lie. The media are really just trying to create another week of drama for Saints.

Speaking of craeting drama, when is Ciraldo & Dogs coming under the spolight after their sacking of Barrett and $$$ spending this year in players. They are worse this year than last under Potter who I believe is still an assistant?
Oh Gus will tell you they have no forwards and are all out injured. Apart from Kikau who was overerated in terms of $$ anyway and Thompson who they want to off load they are nearly at full strength.
Gus will shrug it off as will take time to build this squad. They are in Year 3 for the rebuild by the way since Gus arrived.
I must admit their lower grades are strong so time will tell

For what my view of Lomax is worth, I don't think that he is creative enough and lacks the zest that the better centres at several other clubs have. He just does not threaten and look dangerous enough for me. He is easily read, he doesn't have a swerve or an effective dummy, then whoosh which is what I like to see a centre have. A good centre like Val Homes, who has the in and away and swerve and strength and dash to make a decent break and then pass to his winger is all that is needed and Lomax just doesn't have it.

If Lomax stays, I don't think that Flanno can teach him any of those things. They have to be natural so that he can do the things without thinking and be second nature. He should be replaced by someone who can provide this.

In my opinion, most of the problems facing players at the Dragons stem from a lack of fitness and speed. Bring in good fitness staff and work hard on sprint exercises and there will be a big change in the confidence of our team.

That’s a big factor. You need about 4 leaders and we’ve been light in this area for a decade.
