The first step is to collect him at 9. This should see Hunt wanting out of his contract.

If this does not work, drop him to reserve grade. He will soon understand that his worth on the market will drastically be reduced if he stays.
If Hunt stays, whether he play half, hooker or reserve grade he will still be on big money. In 2 years time his worth would be less, mainly because he would be close to retiring. For him it is a Win/Win.

In relation to Amone, I suspect why the Dragons haven't acted yet is, as others have suggested, they are waiting until after he is sentenced. If the Dragons board acted now, be it termination, a suspension or a fine, it could be argued that it may influence his sentencing (I could hear his lawyer making this exact case). This would be far more dangerous for your club if that occurred.

Newcastle have announced the extension of Phoenix Crossland until 2026. This helps the old Jayden Brailey rumours...
I get all that. Have we really seen the best of Jacob Liddle?
He is still rather young in NRL terms and I feel he has been written off too early in comparison to Brailey who has injury concerns. I dunno it seems we are judging off reputation rather than form
I saw some good signs last year and would like to see how Liddle fares under Flanno first

I think he's a good player, just better served as a bench hooker. He can literally change the entire game when he uses his speed coming off the bench. Best example was ANZAC Day this year. Mbye as usual was shocking to watch, Liddle comes on and we got to a position where we should've won the game (I think Mbye was put back on and it just reversed all the good we were doing). I wouldn't like losing him at all, but I would love to see a Brailey/Liddle rotation. For mine, they'd be a perfect combination, with Brailey's rock solid defence and service, plus leadership qualities. Then, Liddle comes on with his speed against tiring forwards and carves up.

I rate Liddle and think he’s been doing a decent job for us but Brailey would bring some much needed leadership and experience to our squad. Whether either of them can ever make it back to being a 80min hooker is still up in the air but Brailey starting and Liddle off the bench would certainly be a good combo compared to what we’ve had in recent years.

I’ll second that!

Gee the common thread on the Rumours is that lots of the guys "on the market" are injury prone or have suffered multiple ACL's etc! Is this all the type of guys that we can get?

Provided we don't go for the "oldies" and has beens, I will be happy.

Moley reporting that Josh Curran looks like a done deal at Dogs
Bloody hell! The Dogs seem to have a bottomless pit for their salary cap. They virtually have signed all the guys coming onto the market - well several anyway. They must be shedding a shitload of current players. If they don't make the top 4 next year then Ciraldo's coaching days could be shortened.

I’m currently severely confused as to what Flanno is waiting for

I get that he has his eyes on the big fishes of 2025 eg Luai but in all seriousness we are more likely to miss out on all of them , and then have missed the boat completely on signings we actually had a shot at e.g Curran

From the Herald:

Curran, who had been given permission to test the market despite having another year left on his Warriors deal, has agreed to terms with Canterbury.

He also spoke to the Dragons but told the club on Tuesday night that he wouldn't be taking up their offer.

At least we offered, I guess *shrugs*

Flanno can’t even entice f**king Josh Curran to the club what chance do we have to bring anyone else
