Its awful but atleast we got clarity on 3 of them today.. and we literally have to replace Amone with someone to play NSW Cup and provide injury cover for 1st grade..

And I'm also hoping that we atleast got a small fish in a Luki or the other 1nd rower.. im assuming this is where NQLD got the money from for Deardon.

In any case.. it won't be a quiet christmas in the Flanagan household.. some serious left-field ideas needed to fill our 2024 and 2025 rosters.

Two massive low blows within hours of each other.
The AFB one is massive as most mail was , as he was , app , over the line..then this ...
Thinking if it came down to Us n Sharks on similar coin , i guess most would go to the Sharks
Good roster , professionally run and realistic hope of making Finals
US ...Been in a rut for years , a dis jointed Board and Captain who publicly declared he wanted OUT..
The last point is the KILLER .If your Captain doesnt want to be here , why would any other intending player ???
Positives
Still plenty of cash to spend
BMM doesnt have to be kept now
Luai still available....Offer him an amount he cant refuse.....
Cowboys Luki and the promising back rower ?? become serious targets with Cows unlikely to keep both
Now maybe the time to open the gates and anyone wanting out have the opportunity to Walk inc our Marquee Player
Give players the opportunity who bleed red n white , and are busting their arses to do this famous Club proud
Hopefully these rejections can galvanise the squad and get them to adopt an us against them mentality
from here the only way is up
Luai will be announced by Wests within the next 48 hours.

It gest worse - its reported the Warriors did not request a player swap from the Sharks but they did from the Dragons. Are the Cronulla forwards of a lesser quality than the Dragons forwards - clearly not????
So why did they ultimately accept this lesser option from Cronulla. The only possible answer is that Cronulla must have made it a better overall deal than St George?????? There can be no other logic.

Not sure but I'd imagine that Millward's position as Head of Recruitment was not advertised to try and find the most qualified specialist? What a coincidence that the best person for the job, just happened to be the son of Bob.Same as Deano getting the Assistant Coach role. Coincidence that he is the son of Craig. If this was a Government organisation, all of these family appointments would be investigated by the organisation's integrity units. And there in lies the answer as to why we are continually sliding down the success slide. It won't change until we replace all these nepotistic appointments with specialists.
Been saying this for years ...... All leechers .......

I am so utterly disappointed with the results of today in the media. I am gobsmacked right through and I am so tired of building up on hope to see us fail, fail, fail so many times.

The club and management will be in meltdown and may not have anything left in the engine to fire up the dying Dragons flame.

Flanagan now knows what a hard job he has with getting us wins in the comp let alone getting us just a couple of good players. Not many, not even any.

The squad will not be much improved and when we see bloody AFB (A f**king Bastard) running out in the Sharks colours next year and charging through the middle giving an off load to Hynes to score under the posts, we will be lamenting and maybe giving league a big fat miss.

I was truly looking forward to seeing us play next year. Now its who cares??

Just drive past the Sharks home ground and then back up to Carlton and compare the leagues clubs.

One is progressive and the other is living in the past.

We're a basket case on and off the field.

We all share in your frustration DD but as Dungay Dragon has said, hopefully Flanno will be able to get the best out of this mob and galvanise the group until we go to market again for a quality front rower.
I want to see Jack Debelin bury AFB on his first hit up when we play the Warriors next year!

I posted a few days back that I was not being negative just pragmatic in saying that no one was coming to the dragons. Truly never expected any of Flanno’s wish list to come to us.

Well at least we know for sure where the cards lie. It is very disappointing. The hard bit is copping it week after week from friends who support strong clubs.

I think it’s now very clear that we aren’t going to buy our way back up the ladder. We offered AFB 6 million bucks and he said no.
Only way up the ladder is by overachieving with the current mob. Try and win half our games and get some positive media attention.
Then and only then will we potentially buy some top tier players.
It’s going to take a while.

AFB is for 2025. He might do an ACL next year.

That is a huge kick in the guts for Saints. An ex-junior signing for their local rival for 500k less. Wow. Shows to me Saints had no chance to get him and Flanno pushing for a decision prior to Xmas tipped him over the edge.

It could be worse, Luki can re-sign for a further 5 years too now, knowing our luck.

Flanno quick to bring his son in and remove Bud and now Amone de-registered.

Flanno better go good next season as so far he has said alot but delivered nothing.

I agree DD it had to be the gummies didn’t it ! My solution is go after some critical Sharks players really hard time after time if they keep them they will fill up their salary cap & we will eventually succeed. The sooner they go broke the better !

Dont understand all the angst, he will be turning 30 in the year he starts with
the Sharks & they have signed him for 4 years. Will he be at his best or just
another average front rower living on past reputation.
Lets be positive & focus on the young guys coming through who will have
Lawrie, Sele, Molo & De Belin to guide them
