savala at 500? Geez,

I think if we want him or really anyone wants him I reckon he’ll be close to 650..

500 is a bargain! Though I think he’ll stay at roosters and using the “open market” to show roosters he’s wanted so they can up his pay

We are the St George boys, we had a win today.
We are the boys you know of, who show them how to play.
No matter where you be, the red and white you'll see.
Now, aren't we a wonderful credit, to our locality?

Agree, though tbf what else can we do.. but definitely recommend noone go getting their hopes up on any of those targets.. even if we do speak to them.. we would have to go "all in" and overpay to land anyone who is in demand.. and thus far we have not been wired that way at all..

What is a bit frustrating is there such a gulf between these quality first graders and the average NSW Cup fellas we have picked up so far.. now a lot of them are likely just NSW Cup contracts, but in theory it shouldnt be that hard to pickup a bunch of upgrades for us, 2 wingers & a young fullback in particular.. so many out there not getting opportunity.
I don't mind it if the Dragons sign a fullback, winger, halfback, and maruee prop.

Wish we had an Erin Clarke…. I dont see any of our young forwards with that potential….perhaps Halangahu but not for a number of years… and that’s how long we will be waiting to make an impression

Savala sounds like an easy solution

but my gut feeling is that a Savala will want a pay day ie a 3 year contract $600k pa

do we truly think Savala is the answer for that time period and $ ? Maybe ?

I suspect only Ando would truly know that versus other options he is working on no doubt

there must be 8 to 10 halves like Savala with limited FG experience that all have positives and negatives flare their potential trajectory

21 games of FG at 23yrs of age

193cm tall and 96kg

does have strong utility as a half , FB at a pinch and or a potential centre

hmmmm

wonder who else we are sounding out for 2027

We ned a halfback for 2026, Kyle is not the answer. Atkinson to five-eighth.

I'm tipping that Reed will make his first-grade debut in 2026 and be our first-choice halfback in 2027, so I suggest we offer Savala a one-year deal at $ 600k. In this way he can return to his beloved Roosters and we would hopefolly filded the gap in 2026.

Parra have just made a offer to Big Nelson. I hope we have a front rower ready to go because we are desperate for a hardened prop. We could do a lot worst than big Nelson even with his on field issues.
Get going Anderson and do what your hired to do
Other front rowers that are available are. Uele, Keon, Hetherington.

Savala will be good to get in 2026 with Atkinson at 6 for 2 years then promote Reed to halfback in 2027. 2 year deal for Savala at 500-550k per year will be good. Question is will we be able to get him early in 2026 and will Flanagan want to do it at the expense of his son Kyle who will be forced to reserve grade really.

Savali wants to stay at the Roosters but knows DCE will get the nod in 2026. So, we would have a better chance of winning his signature if we offered a 1 year, 600k deal. Why, because he could play first-grade in 2026 and because the dollars are great.

If the Roosters are hoping to keep Savala long term they are unlikely to release him for 2026, particularly given he hasn't signed an extension with them yet.

I guess this insane speculation is what we are reduced to being starved of information and desperate for any news on new signings.

Is insane speculation preferable to insane facts? I'm undecided.

I'd prefer noone knowing what's happening with potential negotiations than them playing out in the media.

Particularly if it ends in decent signings.

U gotta think that our Chairman, CEO and head coach would have wanted a very clear plan from Ando on what is seriously possible

I’ve been a little more released given the Nov 1 start of the silly season and that there is a high probability of important improvements for 2026 but a serious charge with serious dollars for 2027 and the pieces we need into our best 17

we have been filling out our best 30 with some space to push into 2026 and or 2027

It isn't just DCE that will block Savala. They have Rodwell and a couple of other young halves who are highly valued at the Roosters. Savala would be best advised to get himself to a club like the Dragons, where an NRL starting halfback role is more realistic
