I believe that Millward is a lot more selective than he used to be and would not select Gray who is barely Canterbury Cup standard. The only wingers that we have that are near NRL standard are Pereira and Ramsey. I think that the targets might be Johnston or Niko or a similar quality winger. The Club does not need more second class backs such as Aitken, Dufty, Lafai and Ravalawa who are all surplus to our needs.

DR Hope your right, but AJ want to be a Fullback, if not he is exactly what we need a proven NRL player someone with sheer speed course without Dufty in the team there's not a lot of speed

Word up here in Brisbane is that Jesse Arthur’s is front runner for wing spot with Oates on the other.
Bird at fullback and Staggs with Boyd in the centres.
That leave Jamayne Isaako missing out.
From memory Siebold didn’t pick him a few times last year either however is signed for another few years.
Fast, goal kicker, kicks field goals, covers wing or fullback.
I would be asking. He’s a talent and too good not to be playing fg.
The first part above is rumour. The second part is just me thinking .

Dragonsamy, this is definitely what I have been thinking. We lack speedsters at the moment who can pounce onto a loose ball and scoot away to score under the posts. Brett Morris was one of those speedsters who was able to do this for us many moons ago now. Dufty has this ability of course but I don't like his chances of coming into first grade unless there are some injuries.

Lomax isn't lightning quick nor are the wingers and centres. I don't like the thought of an opposition speedster intercepting one of our passes and there is no-one to chase him down!! Speed to me is an essential ingredient in the sport be it in passing the ball, running in and making quick ball and all tackles, the speed of the brain to anticipate and make quick decisions and of course a good run around and then long pass out to the wingers to run down the line quickly. I think we lack in all of these areas and we are poor with lots of the skills.

These are my thoughts. Cheers

FMD we’ve got people in here that get excited and carry on big time when Frizz or Graham chase a tearaway opposition player back to our goal line.
We are desperately short on speed and very capable of throwing an intercept or 3.
There was nothing as sublime as either a B Moz or a Tingha runaway thank god the memory still works.

Wasn't it great to see these two legends cross the opposition line in run-a-way tries? So much excitement which is so lacking in our recent years of games. These are the sort of players who when they make a break get you up on your feet and start yelling with glee - not now alas.

I heard that at the start of the year we had talks with Bevan Frenchs management.
Talks stopped in late January, i dont know why, but maybe, those talks are back on?
Id much rather we go after Isaako, ticks all the boxes, and we would have ourselves a top notch back up goal kicker too.
