I'm sure these journos and other 'experts' just pull nunbers from their a*^e. Guestimates of what they think a player is worth then add or subtract depending on which team it is. Over and under inflation are better stories right!

For all we know Molo may have signed for 400k and its the term of the contract, the 3yrs, that is the carrot.

$500k sounds about right to me, he’d need some encouragement to move down to Wollongong from Townsville plus the chance of a starting spot with Vaughan.

As was the case with Dugan and Cam Mac, they left for "similar' dollars but got the years they wanted.

The player managers screw with their media contacts. They drip feed bs, and most journos swallow it.

if we paid about 500 for this guy then we probably paid about 100 K a year too much but that is where we are as a club I don’t mind it we need a body and an effort player like him even if he is not one of the best props in the game

We don’t really need the best props in the game just a good bunch of hardworking blokes that hunt as a pack. I believe we are for sure getting there. We just need to settle on the best side and build cohesion in attack and defence.

There’s no way he’d do that, his manager is obviously looking for a massive long term contract and using other clubs as leverage. I wouldn’t touch it. He’s a great player but he would just be using us.

Well we’ve been crying out for a second rower & any mid season signing is likely to bring some baggage. Maddison goes pretty well certainly worth a conversation

Actually I have been saying that for years now , Maddison is a great 2nd rower and perhaps even better in the centers - opposition players really knew they had been tackled
when Kenny got hold of them .

He seems to be on the improve with a good offload so hopefully his best years are ahead which may make the 100k or so over? a good price.

I believe Hook is trying to re-establish a culture of wanting to play for the Dragons, he doesnt want players who are always looking to 'get out of contracts'.

Agree entirely , Matterson’s agent should be selling his services up at the Cross , he seems to change clubs as often as the ladies of the night change clients .

However once again we have an agent whom is looking for his next bonus by shopping around a player whom is still under contract - with an option for another season . In both cases they are Parramatta players - is this the same agent that told the media that we were after Brown ?

Regardless , it is quite apparent - even to blind Freddy - that these agents simply don’t give a damn about the rules and regulations set by the NRL , these sods simply thumb their noses at them . Time for the big boys who run the game to show these unscrupulous ‘ pimps ‘ just who the boss is .

He had that sea breeze at Bondi but still moved on. Look, there is no doubt he is a quality player and tough and uncompromising on the field but do we need someone who keeps thinking where his next gig will be and not being part of the culture of wanting to be a proud Dragons player which Hook is undoubtedly wanting to instil in all of our players?

Matterson's clubs history is crazy.
He was at the Roosters, which we know has a great coach and a winning culture but left them at the end of 2018 and signed a 3 year deal with the Tigers starting in 2019 which meant that he should have been there to the end of 2021 but no, after playing 2019 with the Tigers, he said that he wanted out for personal reasons and the Tigers eventually gave in and he then signed a 3 year deal with the Eels from 2020-2022. So you can see the trend of his couldn't care less attitude of what a contract is all about.

He basically has 2 more years at the Eels and Brad Arthur wants him there. Is he going to say he needs to leave for personal reasons again - meaning more money with another club for 3 years and that Club possibly being the Bulldogs?

He won't want to come to us for the remainder of 2021 - no way!
