Not a rumour but I noticed Parra beat Melbourne tonight, perhaps there’s a changing of the guard happening in the NRL?

Critical we get a win this week to make a statement we’re in the mix
Not sure about changing of the guard just yet.!
Parra led the comp for a while early on last year
Melb could of easily won that game last night

Of course it does. Every win counts especially after our last 2 years of garbage. We could win tomorrow night then back it up vs Manly next week as well and possibly be 2-1 but I wouldn’t be canceling my plans for September just yet.

If we get to origin time and we’re competitive on the ladder then maybe I’ll start to think things are happening. Until then let’s cheer on the fellas tomorrow night to a good solid win and a great weekend
A 0-2 start against 2 mid/bottom table teams makes us look very bad no one’s going to take us seriously. I was hoping we’d come out & win a few games to show we’re not the usual easy beats we’ve been the past few years.

A friend told me his girlfriend's house near Taree is under water. They said it was "just a creek" beforehand.

That has got to be very scary I sincerely hope they are ok.

If it continues as predicted (supposedly 400mm tomorrow alone) we will be locked in, in my part of the Hawkesbury by late tomorrow.

Busily getting the boat ready and applying Noah's principle of 2 x 2 just in case.

2 cases of shiraz, 2 of cab sav, 2 of merlot, 2 of scotch, 2 of gin and so forth but I think I need a much bigger boat to fit it all in and if push comes to shove the dove will have to fend for itself.

All the best OT & anyone else in the same situation. We’ve had enough of the wet stuff to last us six months.

I hope you will be spared that dove decision and can stay in your cosy abode O/T. Nothing worse than having to make decisions

Have a sister up that way at McGraths Hill , occasionally get the water up to their front door , but no further , this time it may be very different .

My other sister lives at Laurieton and the water from the lake , which would be approx. 1.5 k distance has now reached their back fence . Unfortunately they have no option but to evacuate, to make matters worse hubby is on his last legs and does not wish to leave his home , but fortunately the family has basically dragged the poor man out .

Very sad not just for him , but for all the victims of the floods .

Interesting stats, after 2 weeks Hunt leads the comp in try assists & is second for line engaged. Huge turnaround for Ben I hope it continues.

Daniel Alvaro continues to impress 127 meters ran & 35 tackles against the Cows. A starting spot surely not far away.

Also Tariq Sims stats are pretty woeful he leads the comp in missed tackles. He needs to lift & become Tariq again.

That is very sad fingers crossed it isn't for long and he gets back into his comfort zone.

The Tariq you are thinking of was in fact just a short aberration and he has gone back to exactly the Tariq we purchased.

Can we drop him for round 3?
I’d love to see Hook send him back to reserve grade and ask him to earn his place in the team. My only concern is that we are so weak for back row depth that Sims may just be an auto-select regardless of form atm.

Good question Crush

Run metres not much. PCM poor, tackles missed plenty.

So the question effectively is threefold
  1. Is there any sign he is about to run into form?
  2. What do we lose by not having him in the team?
  3. If he were to get injured we would have to pick someone to fill the position so who would that be?
I think Hook will give him a few more games before doing anything although if he picks Ellis or Hunt on the bench next week then the decision has probably been made.

Let’s give the big fella a bit of time. He will come good, just needs to lose the infection that he suffered from the ex peanut

Happy to give him some time, but to be fair he has been playing on reputation for a while.
Not just the first 2 games this year.
