Okay Iā€™ll pass on some rumours that I believe to be 100% true .
Apparently Josh Kerr couldnā€™t catch COVID walking naked thru Bondi so how the f**k can he catch a football??
Jack Bird will miss a tackle and drop the ball at least once a game.
Farmerā€silly ā€œ has gone to the Blake Lawrie school of dumb and dumber
Corey Norman reminds me of !!!!! Well nothing really just like he played , nothing he has got nothing!!!
Blake lawrieā€¦ā€¦ I had a dog once who I taught to sit and shake and sing, actually I believe my Boarder Collie could understand at least 47 words that I spoke , I would love to be at a training session to see how Hook communicates with Blake??

A good leader but is he what we need ? He's turns 30 in September, would attract big dollars and likely want a 3 year contract. He's another 100kg lock / second row ( spent a lot of time on the bench this year ) like Su'a. Didn't our recruitment team watch the game last night ? We need some big bodies. We need some go forward. TPJ would likely be cheaper and is bigger and only 25. Are they rebuilding or just desperate to save their jobs ?

Not sure about TPJ but agree with you about the age factor- are we building a forward pack that will be a Dragons Army or Dad's Army?- McCullough 30+,Sims 30+, McGuire 30+, De Belin 30, George Burgess-30 next year, Finucane 30- next year......imo, the desperate need is some x factor, energy and unpredictability from dummy half...McCullough is a tough, honest, defender and workhorse but it was almost embarrassing watching as wave after wave of one out crash ball runners were easily repelled by the Manly defence on the line due to a combo of his fatigue and lack of creativity. I can almost hear the screams of protest as I venture to say that this was something that Dufty, if we'd retained him, could have provided off the bench- but a Tom Starling, Api Koroisau type of player would be next best.

A Peachey type player at our club to add utility value and spark would be good. Could step in for McCulloch when he has his grandpa nap. Could have kept Dufty for this but fair enough if he wants to be a fullback.

The backs are a bit of a mess too.

If we are going to persist with Norman, Dufty and Beale/Williame in our starting side because it 'gives us the best chance of finals' then the coach is purely stating that he doesn't feel positive about our future. Nor does he want consider good backs who have come on the market, or can't get them to sign. Griffin was quoted as saying Sloan wasn't ready two days before giving him his debut. I am perplexed. Especially because he has done so well in his two appearances.

Should have signed Hynes for starters. That was obvious one. We would have killed it with him and Hunt in the team whether he played in the halves or out the back. Would have been the perfect headache to have. Even 6. Hynes 7. Clune 9. Hunt would have reinvented us but alas we still are no wiser to our halves next year.

In terms of now...either Sullivan or Amone are worth a go to replace Norman. Many of us have been banging on about this for months. Sullivan has the higher wraps but if he is not 100% then go with Talatau, even Clune would be superior. He hasn't done much wrong. That's already a host of opportunity and yet next year Griffin will be telling us to 'give them time' as another season gurgles down the drain..

This year we have hardly seen Ravalawa or Lomax and it's easy to forget how formidable their attacking combination is, as well as being great defenders. Not speedy though. So you need x factor elsewhere (please see better teams for reference).

Ramsey is speedy but doesn't impact matches yet. Matthew Feagai showed a lot in his debut. Get him in somewhere, no excuses not to with Lomax, Rava, Williame unavailable.

This whole thing is starting to become a problem for the future if not seen to now.

Assuming they are all in the bubble this Tuesday I expect to see:

1. Sloan
2. Ramsey
3. Bird
4. Max Feagai
5. Matt Feagai
6. Sullivan/Amone
7. Hunt

14. Dufty

Let's work to our strengths. Let's build to our future. Let's get a bloody buzz happening.

Agree with a lot of that and I was a big supporter of signing Hynes- he seems to be the ultimate utility and now he's a gun goal kicker as well- Jack Bird was heart attack material with his attempts on Friday night-The Faingai brothers may turn out to be great NRL players but, like Sullivan, they've been injured and we've seen precious little of them at the top level to know one way or the other- not convinced about Ramsey, Rava struggles to stay on the park and therefore at least two of our centre/wing spots imo are far from settled and even if there is a plan to play Schiller immediately, there is a worrying lack of depth. Yes- the forwards are the priority- but we can't neglect the need for outside back reinforcement either (Caleb Aekins?)

Agree with Hynes. I think in a lot of ways he is better than Papenhuysen but the Sharks will be loving him instead.

I;m a bit worried about our squad for now and next year when we have the 30+ players in the team but I'm sure Hook will sort this all out, I think???

Hook's track record is a pass mark on the recruitment front so far, but this next season is even more important for him and for us to get it right. Look at the Storm and Panthers, their reserve grade team would give us a good run for our money, so to sit back and play a conservative approach in the market place is setting ourselves up to be at best fighting it out for a bottom 8. That's not what Dragons fans consider a success in the long run.

Even with gun signings, we will be relying on our juniors to blossom, hence why I am frustrated we haven't seen enough of them fro whatever reason.

I appreciate some will say, "how do you know that we didn't go after x or y"? And I don't. In fact I don't seem to know half of what goes on in the secret society that is our club but all I can comment on is what eventuates. I'm probably not posting this if we win well on Friday night but we seem to be ignoring where our points come from in the future.

Who was the fool that suggested that the Dragons think about signing that hand-grenade Lachlan Lewis ? ? ? šŸ˜³View attachment 50940
Yes I saw this and thought wow! Lachlan Lewis has had a brain fart. What the hell did he think he was doing and did he ever think that he would get away with it? No, he got 10 in the bin and he well and truly deserved to be binned. If he is on our radar, heaven forbid.

Not sure how you can proclaim we should've signed Hynes on the one hand and then that we should be playing Sloane, Amone or Sullivan on the other.

Either you genuinely want to see pathways for promising youngsters or you want us to sign external talent who will take the places in the 17 of said youngsters, can't have it both ways.

No. I've always said get someone like Hynes - a ready made proven star - and let the juniors fight it out for a spot in the NRL.

Making one good signing to replace either Dufty or Norman is not beyond the realms of possibility. Especially when they are all quite versatile

We are so scared of having it all at this club that even the supporters are resigned to the one or the other mentality. That's what gets us nowhere. Bennett came in and said "I'll have this, I'll have that and give me this." And shock horror we were a better team.

Given we've signed no body to replace our 1 and 6, yes, let's blood these boys and see what we are working with. Let's not be scared of having too much talent. Best teams have depth.
