I think the 2023 article date tricked a few people (a lot of that is out of date now), I believe we are shopping Ravalawa around now, he does have 2yrs remaining, but pretty sure someone would be willing to pick him up for atleast most of that cash.

If Lomax is gone and Shane is happy to move Rav on if he has any takers then you have to suspect we have landed at least one excellent outside back.

We can't wave goodbye to Lomax and Rav and then just run around with Feagais and Finau or, eaven help us, Bird. Something is afoot.
Max and Mathew Fegai have really come along, Mathew is showing a lot more speed Than Rava, he is also much more reliable under the ball and defense and max has that centre spot locked in ahead of Bird.
Bird will play 14 imo if that, he wasnt resigned, it was dumb clause in his contract which he activated.
You will more players asked to move on to make way for a couple of signings and some really good Juniors coming through

Its the rub.....

Every smart experienced coach knows that a high performing squad has to extract performance from all categories of the squad to be a true top end team

The young guys play above expectation.

The players that are in that 21-25yrs play beyond expectation and contribute with solid performances but wont play like at $700k player - The Fegai's have done that this season. So to Tui. Cheap in dollars, valuable in a team to function, especially when injuries strike / rep duties.

The old guys at the tail end of their career get fitter and stronger than ever and surge again.

The marque / elite type players set a standard every week that is so consistent that it is the wheels on the car.

There is no magic wand is there. Unless you think are a porn star and your call yourself the magic wand :)

I hope you're right- If Max Feagai/ Bird are our right centre options for 2025, we've waved the white flag for the season. Max looks the part but just lacks instinct for the game and can't deliver in attack or defence. Shame about Rava and his judiciary/discipline problems- he's got me out of my seat numerous times over the years when scoring what I thought were impossible tries in the corner and is still a beast with the ball. Good signs from Tui against the Broncs gives me hope that there is still a blockbusting winger in the club.

Would keep Rav over Fegai just look back over the years on his highlights
Comparing Rav and Mat Feagai

Rawa is unstoppable 10 to 20m from the line. Can beat most wingers one on one.
On the other hand, Mat Feagai has a great step.

Rawa is better tackler but suspect under high ball. That is why he gets bombed a lot
Feagai is better under high ball but his defense needs improving

Rawa is devastating on right wing but less effective on left wing
Feagai can play multiple positions including FB and both wings

Also note that Tui is also improving and had a great game against Broncos and hopefully we will also see Alan who has been injured this year.

And there is of course Blaize Talagi that we are after.
