I say sacked cause the club had a gutfull of what he was saying in the media , but the official agreement is mutual release due to the fact that the club is not paying him out

internally they are viewing it as a sacking

Dragons announce departure of Ben Hunt

The St George Illawarra Dragons have reached an agreement for Ben Hunt to depart the club immediately despite having one year remaining on his contract.

Jmoz I was Ok with at the time but still would of been good to see him snd his bro form a lethal combo under Bennett

He was behind a couple of pretty handy players for us.

Hopefully the dealings with Lomax and Hunt show others in the squad to shape up or ship out. I'd like to see Lawrie put in a great pre-season under Flanagan's direction and see some potential unlocked, and if Rava can fix what he's been told to, then he can be a beast.

As a 50 year Dragons tragic this is the best news i have heard since the 2010 GF
I dont think BH ever grasped the fact that when you are on the big bucks comes massive expectation .
When the game is on the line YOU are the one that has to get the team home

i cant recall a more polarising figure the Club has signed

We don't have to spend a single cent on his contract for next year. It could've easily been a situation where he stays with us until jan & then leaves which would've cost us $$$
