Well i'd argue we have held people accountable. We sacked Griffin, essentially hired a new coaching team and have a new CEO in-bound.
Rava and Lawire were both resigned when they were undisputed starters and Molo was re-signed because we couldn't fill the top 30! I'd argue that the Board held so much operational power, that they would've been involved in this. Of all of the idiotic things we've done at this club, I don't really have an issue in those 3 players being resigned. Hindsight is wonderful.
I don't know anything about Haran and Millward and what they do, but I am impressed with our top 30 signings this year and next, while the young players we've signed look like genuine good quality first graders.
For the first time in a long-time I say give the club a break
It's only very very recently that the club has vaguely started making better management steps and to be honest it seems to driven more by Flanno than the board. And let's not forget we fluked into Flanno. The board you're telling us knows what it's doing was going to appoint L plate Ryles.........
The rest of your defence of the boards apparent "holding people to account" here is unbelievably funny. Griffin was sacked - but 2 years too late - and let's face it - he should never have been appointed in the first place. We're still paying for the Griffin years and will continue to do so for at least another year or so until his woeful recruiting and losing culture is completely flushed out of the system. The same board who reluctantly sacked him (way too late) was dumb enough to appoint him AND then extend him when it was obvious to everyone he was woefully out of his depth. Don't tell me this board holds people accountable. They waited until we had one hand on the wooden spoon until they finally acted.
Prior to that we have McGregor. Another hilariously terrible appointment - same board. Just like Griffin, Mc Gregor was incompetent AND extended while the team went backwards down the ladder and lost its soul. And during this fall from grace our CEO famously gave McGregor a "pass mark" in a radio interview while we slumped down the ladder. Don't tell me this board holds people accountable.
Then you lose all credibility when you tell us Lawrie was an "undisputed starter". Only at the Dragons buddy. Only at the Dragons. Resigning Lawrie was typically lazy and inept Dragons business and is representative of why we were quickly becoming the laughing stock of the NRL - thankfully the Tigers were worse.
The signings we have made since Flanno arrived are courtesy of........Flanno. The board - and Haran and Millward - had nothing to do with it.
There is no reason yet to "give the club a break". They're one bad decision away from plonking us right back where we were under McGregor and Griffin. Hopefully the new CEO will help point us back in the right direction but let's wait and see.
