Unfortunately with now the eels and roosters interested our offer would need to be around 1.2 mil a year. Hopefully the lure of living around Gerringong or Kiama may also be enticing.
I know 1.2 mil sounds a lot but there is multiple clubs that have 2 to 3 or even 4 million dollar players.

Every year a list regenerates and we have 10 or so players that leave and join

KK type player in the prop role at a $1m pa for 5years I think is good value actually

$1m pa is more like $850k pa a year ago it feels when trying to recruit from outside

Holmes was close to a $1m pa and that was overs but required and we had plenty of cap space

this is similar but there are probably. Few clubs that would pay it if KK said yes I’ll join

our pinch point will be 2028 where our cap won’t have as much flexibility to pre pay players the year before like have no doubt done for 2024/25 and maybe 2026 unless we land a big fish that is give a release for 2026 season
Holmes is getting nowhere near a mill, surely ?

I think the bunnies are still favourites to keep him, but we are going above market value to poach him, and doing what we can. If he doesn’t accept our offer than so be it, I wouldn’t want to offer more.

any chance of binnies letting him go early if he signs with us/ you cap is out of whack atm? But maybe you need him as long as you can?
No chance if he goes that we give an early release.

And just like that Saints are no chance of landing KK. The Eels are a shoe in. If he wants to win a comp, having a guy like Mitch Moses in your halves as opposed to Kyle will be a massive factor. Plus he won't have to move far.
Eels are not close to a premiership with or without Mitch Moses. Mitch Moses will fall off by 2028 when he's 34 and without him they are a bottom 4 team. I can't see Eels making the top 8 with Mitch Moses anyway. Dragons have better young players coming through and are closer to a premiership than Eels. Dragons will be a premiership threat by 2028 when the younger players are 22-26 years old. Toby Couchman, Ryan Couchman, Dylan Egan, Hamish Stewart, Loko Tonga, Jacob Halangahu, King-Togia, Kade Reed, Hayden Buchanan, Daniel Meafou, etc.

Not including all the younger players coming through born 2007 or later who are among the best in their age group like Oliver Burton, Alexander Pupualii, Cornelius Pupualii, Rokko Walker, Asher Chapman, Josais Ah Kee, etc.

I would bump the offer up to 1.1 a year to really sweeten the deal

We are an ageing, slow, cumbersome side with a handful of might make its and signing no one of merit to take those kids forward.

Coupled that with an out of touch rinse & repeat coach who thinks he has a talented footballer in his family.

The Eels meanwhile are cleaning the decks of all their clunkers, loading up with youth & speed and adapting to 2026 footy not 2016 like us and are more chance of landing a big fish than us.

They will inflict plenty of pain on us.

The Dragons have a great opportunity for our young forward pack to build excitement and skills, setting the team up for a top-four spot in 2027. All we need right now is a marquee prop to lead the way.

Our halves combo will be sortedd out in 2026, hopefully Reed marching into the 7 jumper and O'Neil winning the 6 jumper.

Kyle will have to perform well above his 2025 form to win the 14 jumper in 2027. I'm tipping LKT to be our 14 in 2027.

So, we need a KK or Tino to heelp turn the tem into something special in 2027.

Not sure what to take seriously from the media reports.
So apparently Parra have actually 'tabled him a four year deal' does that mean an official offer or not ? and no mention of how much it's for.

Dragons are 'willing to pay close to 5mil for 5 years' so what is it 950k per year ? who knows, and so really this is not even an official offer.

If you can't see that they are clearly in better shape than us then you are in for a world of hurt & misery.

They were supposedly going to fall into a great abyss because they signed the so called "dumb as dog shit rookie" Jason Ryles and we were supposed to be riding a giant wave of exhilaration as we got the prized signature of the former premiership winning coach.

The Eels are miles in front of us and very much in the mix re signing quality players and their 1 year entrepreneurial deal re the spare Storm halfback just shows you how great the difference in thinking outside the box actually is between the 2 clubs.

Meanwhile we remain wedded to Cake, Sloan, the ever ageing Gutho & Cook and snails like CT and of course that organisational genius KF.

If they aren't near a window then where do you think we are if we are supposedly in front of them?

The Old Whiner, still on his anti Flanno crusade.... you're certainly consistent.

Eels have put their offer on the table… Dragons still thinking about it….. true to form no chance

Anderson has been here quite a while now… yet to see any action in the form of signing an NRL player… I think he’s a dud

You have no idea whether saints have made a formal offer or not.

So you are mad about something that you have no facts about and basically made up.

Lol
