I'd have thought it would have been that epic run we had 1981 to 1983. But 1986 you say. I'll have to find a DVD of that season

FWIW, in 1997 we won 11 in a row, which is our best from 1981 onwards (I didn't look back further).
In 2001 we went 11 games without a loss (9 wins + 2 draws) and we had 9 wins in a row in 2006.
1981, '82, '98 and 2001 we had 8 wins in a row.

EDIT: before anyone has a go at me, this is for season proper, not counting finals and not carrying over to the following year.

Correct me if i am wrong, but if Storm beat roosters in melb, broncs beat sharks in bris and we beat knights this week, we are equal 2nd this week with broncs and roosters while 2 points ahead of sharks.

Then if we win the rest of our games and sharks beat roosters in the run home, we get 2nd outright

Simples (in theory) but i guarantee we lose at least 1 game on the way home.

I am sure you can all do the ladder predictor yourselves though.

Some would say that the upcoming Newcastle game is the game we are going to lose because everyone expects us to win the games we aren't expected to lose but in the end we end up losing the games we expect to win.

We will smash Newcastle, their last two wins notwithstanding. They have played better than they played last week and still lost.

Certainly won't be a cricket score, we just can't seem to do that, but it will be a convincing win nonetheless.

You might be right, but i know one of our situations is a lot more likely than the other.

So the sharks 15 straight was early in the season. Anyone happen to know the longest win streak leading to a GF win. 13 straight would be a pretty remarkable feat given it would include a final, prelim and GF

In 2001 we won 10 in a row leading into the GF.
A loss to NZ in Round 18 punctuated what would of been 18 wins in row into the GF.
And that round 18 loss also stopped what would have been 22 games without losing going into the GF.
