6th position should be the aim with that draw along with reaching 13 wins minimum for the season as well as it at least equals last year tally.

6th gives us a home final in the 1st week which would be ideal.

But in saying that after 8 years of missing out i just wanna make the finals so if its 8th so be it.

A quick look at the ladder says to me that we'd need something extraordinary to finish higher than seventh. It's that bloody awful F/A.

But yeah, I just wanna make the f**ken finals.

Problem is we only beat the gash sides by 4-10 points, but then lose to the broncos (and maybe even the storm next week) by 20+.

I'll be amazed if we finished the regular season with a positive f&a

I reckon building momentum over the rounds after origin, ie the last 6 or so rounds, puts a team in good stead to make a premiership challenge .... not saying we will do that, but some team might

Looking at the 8, do we really expect the Dragons or Cowboys to finish ahead of us? Realistically, with our run, we should be aiming for a home final.

I dont think the dragons have a particularly hard run, but they are certainly stumbling atm

Cowboys havent dropped their bundle yet

I agree that we could push higher into the eight but honestly I've followed these donkeys long enough to not expect too much of them....

Focus on winning the four games or whatever we need to lock up a spot. If we get 2/2 in our next couple then by all means push hard, but I hope they just approach it as a weekly thing and don't pressure themselves into winning six or seven and finishing sixth.

If the Cowboys can come down and beat the Raiders in minus temperatures and still have 5 games in the tropics to go then they will win plenty of games still.

Dragons are a different proposition though.

So you reckon the Cowboys, who have 5 games in the tropics left for the year, and who have won plenty of games without Thurston already, will won only one more game all season?
before last night i was thinking that yeah, but have changed my mind now.

We just need to get on a run. Whether we win or lose next weekend. We need to improve our form and be consistent. I can see teams like Dragons, Cowboys and even Broncos sliding if there current form continues. The Sea Eagles have over achieved and may start to drop some games.

Of the chasing pack, the Panthers and Warriors are inconsistent and likely to average 50% wins from now on which won't be enough. The Titans and Raiders are well back and Souths are likely to fall away.

We just need to get to 30. That is 4 wins. We play Newcastle and the Tigers which if we are serious we should win. Rabbitohs should also be a win. We are a bogey team for the Broncos and I think if we don't win both we will win one. Titans should also be winable.

That will mean we are likely to get to 30 but could end up on 34-36.
