Sironen plays in a position that we already have covered and signed 3 further new players to play over the off season.
If we have an inferior squad it's because we peaked last year. We made the grand final ffs. The last time a Parramatta team did better than that was 1986. We quite possibly peaked last year, and no team keeps getting better.
Exactly. The difference is they were so strong at their peak they won back-to-back premierships. Similar to the Roosters a few years ago. Stronger clubs have a higher peak than weaker clubs. When the Titans or Knights peak they make the top eight. When Parramatta or Cronulla peak we might sneak into the grand final. The Roosters/Storm/Panthers at their peak get a few years of being premiership favourites.
Every edge forward can play in the middle. It takes less skill, less speed, less lateral movement, and if you're not fit you can just play shorter minutes. It's probably the easiest position on the field for a big merkin like Curtis Sironen (or Murchie).

BA loves to turn an edgie into a middle. We play so compressed that our edges do much of the hit ups usually done by middles or wingers.
