I don't understand the obsessing over the night time grand final thing. Unless
you support the Broncos or Melbourne, how many times do you get to see your
team play a grand final, let alone win one.

It is like worrying about what to do with your scratchie win before you realise
you won 2 dollars.

2008 and 2011... oh and runners up 2007. Seems fairly often for Manly. Doing ok in 2012 too.

Only one game live FTA is atrocious. I still can't believe they going to keep delaying the Sunday game. Why?!

The money and other aspects of the deal are good but they've really made a meal of it for people who don't have Fox.

While happy with the cash and fixed schedule, from what i can gather absolutely nothing has changed in regards to how/when the games are broadcast in Victoria. Basically we'll (hopefully) still get one Friday night game live on Gem but we'll still have to wait until around midnight for the second game as well as having to wait until 6pm Sunday for that 9 game and only people who have Foxtel can see that anyway. Nothing has f**king changed!

Correct me if I'm wrong but back in the days when there were only 3 games on FTA (Ch9 having Friday night and Sunday 6:30pm 1 hr highlights, ABC having live Saturday arvo match), you folk in NZ got the Friday night and Sunday match live, right?

So basically everything is as it was. No improvements of coverage whatsoever just more money. The AFL deal makes it look amatuer on both a monetary and coverage basis.

The ARLC is a joke. Still dictated to by the networks. Nothing has changed. The AFL would never agree to this. They tell the broadcasters what they want and how much they want and if they dont come to the party they can f**k off and show lawn bowls

i hope they do away with the 2nd friday night game and move it to Saturday arvo, living in NSW and working saturday morning the only way i see the broncos play is when it's on Foxsports.

Been there, done that. As much as ppl are nostalgic of the days when the ABC used to show the Saturday arvo match live, Saturday arvo footy will NEVER return after all the bitching the clubs did when it was revived in 2002. None of the clubs wanted to host a match in that timeslot. Most Sydney teams would be lucky to get 10000.
