Same with Matulino from memory, but a bit different.
If we don't win this one, kiss the season goodbye and plan the end of season function. If we had have won against the tigers it was still a chance for top 4. Now thats virtually impossible. Loose this week, and the 8 is a struggle.
Great time for NZ to play Panthers with no Grant/Lewis.
We always struggle v Penriff but. It might be tougher against a coach who knows the team too. That said, he won't know their patterns because they are not playing the same.

...in a Monday night slot that suits us to the ground now with a 5:30pm local kick-off (no idea why Gould went for that)...
No doubt cause Monday's a public holiday, you can't have a late night at the end of a long weekend. Everyone's exhausted and getting surly about work and school, or whatever, the next day.
Personally, I wouldn't have gone if it was 7 pm start, it means after a drink at Panthers, I'd be home in Katoomba at about midnight.
And it's bleak and freezing right now too.
And if we don't beat them without Grant, Lewis and Jennings, in a Monday night slot that suits us to the ground now with a 5:30pm local kick-off (no idea why Gould went for that) we should put the cue in the rack for 2012.
At least it'll mean we concede less points.
Don't forget we got nailed by the Roosters and the Raiders this year, two poor sides we should have been putting away. The Cleary factor is something to consider too.

...I honestly feel that 8th is the best we can hope for. We're six points off 7th as of now. We'd have to go on a run identical to 2008 to get anywhere near and I don't see it.
As for tonight, I really think it'll be tight. Ivan will be well placed to pick at our weaknesses and if we don't bar up, we've really got an uphill battle to get near the finals.
As Warriors' fans well know, there's no McIntyre system this year either. Not sure how it works now, but it's modelled on the AFL and a much harder task to advance if you don't finish top four.
