My brother just sent me a text, he was listining to the Rock radio station and Bluey was being interviewed or making a stament. The text read. "I'm a good coach we've just been unlucky"
I dont know what to say to be honest except it sounds like someone is covering themselves for end of year reviews and somebody is going to have blame heaped on them.

maybe the Warriors should have had him coach u20s first!

Thats probably not a silly idea, but then if you were coaching a 1st grade SL side and then told that you need a few years in Toyota or NSW cup you would probably see it as a slap in the face.

You make your own luck. He is paid to coach. He has made poor decisions. And, AND, And. He is not learning from his mistakes.

#1 Rule for coaches. Get onside with your players. You have to work together.
How many rounds in did we hear he wasn't talking to certain players? Can't work.

Bluey is a dunce and then some.
As rich102 said you make your own luck and it's actually Bluey's bad selections combined with the bad morale in the team that has us stuck in this mire.
This isn'y fox memorial Bluey!

He's had plenty of bad luck with injuries, lack of experienced depth in all positions and a back line that cant tackle.

Doesn't explain his interchange policies and not having the defensive attitude to protect good leads, and these days they just plain don't give a toss at all. Bad luck is no excuse.

What are these mythical interchange policies? Bluey has every right to expect his interchange forwards to do the job they're in the team to do, or are you saying Bluey has only had two good props in Matulino and Packer all season?

As for the defensive attitude to defend leads, you're right, they dont have the defensive attitude to grind out wins....they play and defend like an under 20's side with no ability to concentrate for long periods, and lets face it, most of the team were playing in the 20's in the last season or two....and 7 of them were playing junior footy this year at some stage.

The interchange definitely have their responsibilities but Bluey had a habit of pulling Matulino, Packer and Martel off at the same time, often when they were playing well and making great metres. And suddenly all our go-forward is gone.

Further to that this trio were often not around for the crucial last 10-15 minutes of the game, and instead he would field an injured Hurrell or the like. Its basic common sense, you put in your best players during the most important moments of the game. And the worst thing is he never stopped doing it all season.

You just need to have looked at Matulino staring from the bench angrily during the Manly game to know what I mean.

Des Hassler had bad luck too and became short of quality back line troops. What did he do about it? Got some good players for little investment and forged on smashing everyone else in the comp...

Are you Bluey's brother or something? You can't defend his naive (borderline arrogant) notion of how to win NRL matches.
His policies of interchange, selection, retention and recruitment have most definitely stuffed this year up. Not to mention the crucial team spirit aspect...

Pulling our starting props off after 20 odd minutes is exactly what Cleary did all last season with no complaints. Mateo has been brought on at all different stages throughout games or has started, all three may have been off the field at the same time for periods of different games, but i doubt he and both props were all interchanged at the same time.

As far as i can remember Matulino and Mateo have been on for at least the last 10 minutes of every game or damn close to it...Hurrell was cleared to go back on by the Warriors medical staff, and was re-injured in his first hit-up. That injury may not of helped his defensive game against Matai, but we saw with his absolutely woeful defense against the Cowboys...it probably made no difference.

Bluey may have tried starting Matulino off the bench so we had him on the field for the last 20 minutes of the first half....which is a valid enough reason, but the fact that he doesn't defend at center or on the wing means we will still lose games because of our pathetic edge defense whether Mut's is on the field or not.

I think you're a little far gone to try and have any type of reasonable discussion with, so i'll leave you to enjoy your Bluey hatred and the red mist that accompanies it....but that red mist can be dangerous, it makes it hard to see things clearly.

So what your saying is your happy with how the clubs gone and how the season has gone thus far?
I don't hate Bluey I just think he is a rubbish coach.

f**kin exactly. Hasler went to the Dogs under much more tumultuous circumstances, later in the pre season and with a team he may not necessarily want. He made it work though, _he_ is a good coach. Bluey sat there saying shit like he has exactly the team he wants. All well and good that he thought that at the start of the season, but you'd think that a good coach would have cottoned on to what was going wrong fairly early in the season. Blueless is still in his delusional world and it's obvious for everyone to see he has no idea what to fix, let alone how to fix it.
