I am throwing names up there. But plenty in the know rate Lam (including incidentally Sheens who was going to add him to our staff at the end of last year)

Sheens has a contract till 2009, I think the board should pull him aside and tell him that 2008 things must change. I dont think their is anyone who could come in and change things without being able to make major squad changes and they will not happen in 2008.

Fitzy, Galea and possibly O'Hara going should leave a bit of room to move. That list of unsigned players was pretty uninspiring in today's Tele. Thought Seymour was pretty good again for the Sharks last night. 7. Seymour, 6. Marshall is preferable to 7. Marshall 6. Morris

Given that we've got Morris, and on a few bob what's more, where would you put him? A few people have mentioned him as a centre. I reckon that's the go...

In the classifieds section of the tele hoping and praying Smith is dumb enough to take him back up the F3

Play John Morris in the centres, he`d be much more value than Whatuira. Get rid of an ageing Hodgo and sign up Birchgrove Lote !!!

I hear Hodgo's manager shopped him to every SL club at 400k and they didn't get a nibble and that we are going to extend his contract by another year as a gesture of goodwill. I hope he can get his knee right over this off season because it's obvious he's not at 100%

maninthehole, I understand you don't like the fact that Morris is not Prince, and that you believe Marshall's poor form is somehow related to something Morris has done or said to him, but please try to remain focused here.

We've got Morris. It's not likely that he'll be going anywhere too soon. He can play. Do we find a spot for him, or do we send him off to BRET where he can keep O'Hara company?

What do you think?

so you would go for a guy who has never coached before over a guy who has won 4 premierships, coached Penrith to their first ever semi series after 20 years, developed those Raiders boys you talked about to win 3 premierships (remember they finished 3 from bottom 2 seasons before he got there with Meninga, Belcher and co playing for them), Cowboys were wooden spooners before he got there and were News owned and no hope of doing anything with their roster interestingly they turned into semifinalists only a year or say later surely he had something to do with that, and finally turning us from the Lamb/Hoppa JV joke freakshow to a premiership with some great juniors including Marshall /Farah /Collis / Lawrence/Tuiaki et al and youd rather have a guy (Lam) who has never coached before and is currently an assistant coach with the Sharks a team fighting for the Spoon!!

Hmmm yea ok, please dont insult the intelligence of some of our supporters in your first post when your intelligence is surely questionable at best.

These are all statistics so the FWO, Leumeah mongs and Orange Grove public dropouts may have trouble comprehending. But these are facts in black and white, with regards the myth of Tim Sheens

A little over 1 win in 3 in the previous decade and a bit

With us:
Games played 121

Are these the stats of a supercoach ??????????????????????/
Now compare those with all the other coaches the Wests Tigers have had

Also, feel free to add in the number of on and off field dramas under those other coaches.

And who those coaches decided to sign.

Sorry, But I'd take an out of position John Morris over an old decripit Michael Buettner or Matt Seers any day

LOL...Seers was class at his best, even though we got him at the end of his career, he at least gave us some value for our buck occasionally with flashes of his class, unlike morris who I'm still waiting on to do something significant.

no, he didn't.

Same can be said for Beckett, Hopoate, Craigie and John Simon.

Are there still shines defenders left.
He couldn't get the side up for that.
The man is bereft of ideas.
We are suddenly kick happy inside the opposition 20
And as for the Minister for Defence .. he makes Kim Beazley look a genius

I'll stick with Sheens for now.

Like I said earlier, if we miss the Finals this year then he's entitled to have pressure on him next year, barring anything but a flying start. I'm not prepared to write off this season just yet, even with a road trip to Melbourne or Brookvale in the first week of the Finals (should things fall into place this weekend). On their day our side ca beat anybody, problem is those types of days are becoming rare.

Simmons I believe, has to go. Defense has been a big problem for a long time. Even in '05 our defensive line was porous. We just managed to scramble & hold on, with luck playing some part. Technically, we are very poor in this aspect of the game & have been for years with no improvement.

And yet supercoach was last year banging the drum of Royce when all those first grade jobs were coming up. Royce showed he was feeble (at best) as a first grade coach and our defence is a disgrace. Will WT bite the bullet and make someone accountable by showing them the door ? My bet is it will be more of the same next year, from exactly the same.

Will make for some more interesting `info days' before the start of the season that Balmain DRLFC and Western Suburbs DRLFC members. I wonder if Shines and Ronald will turn up to this one on the back of 3 sh*t efforts in the player market ?

Forgetting about who we could/should have signed in the last couple of years, who is available NOW to sign? Our two big player losses which have not been adequetly covered are Prince & Laffranchi.

Prince: The only experienceed half back left on the market (to my knowledge) is Brett Firman. He is not what we want/need, although we kind of owe him something for his efort in helping us win the title in '05. Marshall or Hodgson at half back is our best option at the moment. I'd like to see Marshall at fullback and Hodgson at halfback for an entire game. Why not this week since we're up against it anyway.

Laffranchi: Is Clint Newton unsigned for '08? If so I'd make him a pirority. A disillusioned Steve Simpson would be as good if not even better, if he was willing & able to get a release.

With Whatuira gone, along with (hopefully) Fitzhenry & to a lesser extent Ben Galea, we should have enough room under the salary cap to accomodate Newton (if available).
