Would like to see OneHD get the rights to QLD & NSW Cups as well. A NSW Cup "Game of the Week" at 1pm Saturday, followed by QLD Cup "Game of the Week" at 3pm would do wonders for reserve grade and grassroots league.

That is not going to happen. I would like to see a saturday game on FTA, preferrably on 10

That's 325 million. Imo Fox have to pay NRL the same 500 million that they are paying AFL. Or even more as League is a superior product.

Agree,that's my point it is conservative and mimimum the game should get.But I am pro rata-ing on the basis AFL got $53m last times and NRL $43m .If the NRl cracked $80m for pay,that would be nothing to sneeze at.
As the clowns at Pay are going to pay the fumblers $100m pa based on 9 games live or streamed,I don't believe there is $100m in the kitty left over for the NRL,even allowing for another time slot.Hope I am wrong though.

Now just pay the NRL close to $1b over 5 years,with Pay and show the code nationally at decent time slots,and I will be converted .

We wont get the same money off foxtel.... And I completely understand why. Reading Big Poofy, hardly any of them have fox. Fox is showing every single game live. There is talk channel 7 will still show some of the games on delay.

The AFL's greed has completely f**ked them. Fox will get a massive subscription uptake... If people don't they won't be able to watch the footy.

$200mill Ch10 Sunday games

I would give Ten/OneHD Monday Night Football and Fox can have a 6:30pm Sunday night game. Both games would get huge ratings but I think Monday needs to be on FTA.

Just neard Michael Searle on the ABC saying that any new money from the TV rights should go to players and not new teams.

I dont begrudge the players getting upgrades at all , but why is it that the last in is always the most reluctant to allow others in?

You got the chance with the titans champ , time to give someone else that chance.

Didn't he say last year that we should wait until 2017 before expanding the comp? Not exactly unexpected coming from him.

edit: Can see his point though. Assuming we'd be getting around 800m for the media rights, that's almost $10m a year for each club grant + whatever else is needed for running costs right there. Could cherry-pick the best RU and AFL players easily.

$800mill will be more than enough to see club grants rise significantly PLUS bring in two new teams AND sort out jnr and amateur RL's issues.

I notice no one is mentioning more money going to grass roots RL, maybe the QRL had good reason to be worried?
