The two faces of Michael Ennis

He isn't frightened about getting punched in the head.

If acted like he does now say 20 years ago some one would have knocked him out.

He is an utter grub on the field and he certainly doesn't have alot of talent.
Yeah, that's why he has been consistently close to the best hooker of 2016.

NRL Media: 'The game doesn't have any characters, players are like robots who only speak in clichés. The game needs players who aren't afraid to be a bit different and show of a bit of their character'
*Player is a bit different, a bit of a character, shows of his personality*
NRL media: 'NO! NOT LIKE THAT!!'

Ennis is a grade A jerk but a lot of the Sharks players were taunting the crowd after the game.
Raiders fans probably gave it to them during the game and Sharks let off some steam at full time.

I'd say we were coppng it from the moment we set foot in Canberra, probably helped us win.

Why did Bird put his index finger to his mouth in a "shooosh" motion....to quieten the abuse.

Live by the sword, die by the sword!

Remember in origin when he smacked someone and ran and hid behind a forward? The big fairy could never have any impact at that level even his niggling was shit and cost us.

Get used to seeing much more of Ennis than ever before now that he's retired. Like Gasnier who was overrated as a player but a fine analyser Ennis could become the underrated version

Wasn't Stuart one of the filthiest sledgers going around in his day? Seems a bit hypocritical to then harp on about how you truly judge someone by their actions on the footy field... Walt is probably right, might be a tactical element to this.

What a joke that this is an issue from other media commentators - these kind of things make live footy so much more entertaining. The crowd would've been giving it to Ennis all match, he rips back into them. It was a good laugh as a neutral supporter and now there's another element of theatre to the next Canberra/Sharks game.

Ricky Stuart has said exactly that to the media and frankly I agree with him.

"RICKY Stuart has unloaded on Michael Ennis, labelling the Cronulla hooker “disrespectful” and telling him to “grow up’’.

Already furious over Ennis’ decision to mock Raiders fans with his own “Viking clap” after Saturday night’s match in Canberra, Stuart said he couldn’t believe how Ennis then tried to talk his way out of the controversy.

Stuart said he was “over” Ennis trying to paint himself as Mr Nice Guy to the media, only to see him continually carry on like a mug on the field.

“I’m just trying to protect our fans and the unique experience they are creating with the ‘Viking clap’,” Stuart said.

“To have to sit there and watch him rub our fans’ noses in it after the game was disrespectful and typical Michael Ennis."

Precious lot those Raiders (and Ricky) if they take umbrage at that. Disrespectful is usurping a unique piece of someone else's culture and acting like you own it just because you called yourself raiders & have a Viking logo (not theirs either).
When Iceland does it, it is awesome & spine-tingling...when raiders fans do it, it's just that little bit cringe-worthy.
BTW Icelanders weren't Vikings.

It's quite funny really, before Ennis and his antics on the weekend, the Raiders were everyones 2nd favourite team. Now that Ricky has blown a gasket, the tides have turned.
