Last few minutes of today's game, Ennis makes a tackle and whilst laying on, sticks his head in the face of the player on the ground. No need, no point, got no reaction from the opposition.
Sums him up on the field. He obviously doesn't care that people will only remember him in years to come for being a mouthy grub.

Yep, reverting it from an opposition knock on to a penalty against Cronulla on their tryline. That's why I don't buy the Ennis praise that basically says "He's great at getting under the opposition's skin and putting them off their game." It might happen sometimes but he doesn't have control of his behaviour so it just as often impacts his team negatively. Remember when he had the ball 10m out from his line in Origin and he stood up and punched a Qld player? Gave away a penalty in front that sealed the game if I remember correctly

Ricky Stuart has said exactly that to the media and frankly I agree with him.

"RICKY Stuart has unloaded on Michael Ennis, labelling the Cronulla hooker “disrespectful” and telling him to “grow up’’.

Already furious over Ennis’ decision to mock Raiders fans with his own “Viking clap” after Saturday night’s match in Canberra, Stuart said he couldn’t believe how Ennis then tried to talk his way out of the controversy.

Stuart said he was “over” Ennis trying to paint himself as Mr Nice Guy to the media, only to see him continually carry on like a mug on the field.

“I’m just trying to protect our fans and the unique experience they are creating with the ‘Viking clap’,” Stuart said.

“To have to sit there and watch him rub our fans’ noses in it after the game was disrespectful and typical Michael Ennis."

Ennis is a grade A jerk but a lot of the Sharks players were taunting the crowd after the game.
Raiders fans probably gave it to them during the game and Sharks let off some steam at full time.

I am sad he is retiring. I don't support any of the clubs he has played for but I've always enjoyed the fact he is a bit different. All the talk of him being a cat & hiding behind the no punch rule is the biggest crock of shit I have ever heard. He has been the same as he is now from day one of his career. The game could do with a few more characters like him. Josh Reynolds has tried to emulate him a bit, but went a bit far on the total genius front.

Probably the main reason the Sharks held on when they shouldn't have was because of the Viking Clap . . . sounds contagious doesn't it . . . and Ennis was just reminding them of it, no big deal
