no mate!! sorry.

I would much rather try an untried and untested Josh Davis or Kris Inu before Morris in that position.

there are al;so plenty of other blokes who would do a better job in that position.

Morris is a halfback I hope he plays there and we get a fast ballrunner in at 5/8 to take advantage of breaks.

6. Burt
7. Morris

9. Riddell

14. PJ

Nothing against Tim Smith but he is not ready.

Where has my post gone :?: :-s

Sorry mate. It got lost when I split Cliffy's attempts to hijack the thread.... :?

And here I was thinking there was a new rule against talking crap.

Would be a bit quiet around here though I guess. PJM & CIG would have to find a new past time :p

You say Smith isnt ready but you are throwing Burt into the 5/8 role who is untested and unlikely to suceed in the role of pivot. Morris will provide good service from 5/8. PJ could be the answer at halfback but Iam heavily influenced by his impact fromthe 2001 season.

I can only dream that Burt will play 5/8. What is more realisitic is this:

6. Morris
7. PJ

9. Riddell

14. Henderson

Burt can be agreat attacking weapon at five-eight, he can probbably be used there at certain stages of a match where we need score points. However, defensively we might as well give the oppostion 6 points especially witjh about 20 metres out of our goal line and against the feed.

well ok!!

let's look at Canterbury for a second.

didn't they win a grand final by playing a second hooker of the bench [Corey Hughes] and a five-eight [Reni Matua]???

admitedley they do have Brent Sherwin! and the Roosters do have Finch! and the sharks have Kimmorley, Penrith/Gower, Melbourne/Orford....we simpley don't have that luxery of a brilliant half back YET!!!!!....let's hope we discover one soon [-o<

Reni Matua is a Wagon clone, he can play lock and second row.

Canterbury had a three man Prop and second row rotation. I'd love to see how they are going to fair without Price and injuries to key forwards.

Henderson has a lot to prove and wouldnt even consider him getting a FG berth until he proves worthy next year.

So I see the general consensus is the following:

6. Morris
7. Smith
9. Riddell

14. Marsh

I would like to see Mateo in the mix somewhere, but I just think he's a lock or makeshift 5/8, not a utility player.

Thats what I see happening. But Round One 2005 Ill be prepared to see:

6 Morris
7 Marsh
9 Riddell
14 Mateo

Amen.

Really craving some football right now. Cricket is fine and dandy but just doesn't compare.

#-o I dont want to see Morris as our hooker when Marsh and Riddell are fit and at the club. Perenara still has to prove himself. Our Premier League is a big step up from Bartercard IMO.

I'm sure Peranara would be a great buy however he hasn't played firstgrade yetand even with the wraps he gets he might not be able to handle it.

This thread should really be posted after we see some trail form. Alot of spot at Parra are hinging on trail form, only Hindmarsh is sure to be in the number 11.
