You have to just turn your brain off to watch this if you want to enjoy it. Fighting over a shitty prison with wire fences? I mean really? Why aren't these stupid f**ks on a boat off the coast? Still I'll watch anything with zombies.

f**k you can be dumb. How about - how the f**k are people rising from the dead? How about - how the f**k did zombies with weapons of broken teeth defeat fully armoured and fully armed armies? Tanks? Battleships? Fighter jets?

Suspension of disbelief has to be given to even give it a chance.

As for a boat off the coast - one of the worst plans imaginable. To have a good chance of finding a good boat you'd have to go to a city port - and to survive on a boat you'd have to go back to a city every few weeks to stock up big. Good luck with that. All the cities are overrun.

They were thinning out the walkers every day as seen in the first two episodes. The reason they broke the fence the first time was because so many gathered in one spot as someone was feeding them the rats. The second time was because they hadn't been thinning them out enough as they were dealing with the flu.

Suppressors don't completely get rid of noise anyway. They use the M4s and they will run out of ammo quite soon as the walkers just keep coming, then when the fence eventually breaks they have to fight a horde with knives.

Oh comon mate

So they just let them build up, push down the fence and they are left having to chew through ammo any way to stop them? That just leaves them with a big hole in the fence with no ammo. Pretty stupid

Suppressors cut enough of the noise so it doesnt travel and attract more. Its the whole reason they bothered making them in the first place

Im all for suspension of disbelief when the whole premiss of the show relies on it for its main plot point, however there has to be some link to reality in the details otherwise it just becomes annoying.

Any attempt at human drama is just undermined by poorly executed action/suspense sequences. I really did like the pace of the last two episodes, and I thought Hershel was great in this episode, but the way shit plays out on screen is just disappointing to say the least.

I can imagine the writers sitting around thinking "yeah, we'll have the guy come out of his cell to save Hershel, but then a chick comes out of nowhere and starts kicking ass, and then suddenly the dead guy (who would have only been checked literally 5 seconds before) comes out and insta-chomps his arm causing him to shoot the chick! What does everyone think? Awesome!"

That scene was f**king ridiculous.

Also, any notion that they were trying to save ammo is laughable. Carl in particular was in hog heaven firing off that gun, he wasn't exactly being conservative with the ammo.

Which is exactly why I said they could jimmy up some suppressors for the M4s which essentially eliminates the "gunfire attracts more zombies" scenario. They have done this plenty of times before (see pics below). The incident at the farm is exactly why they were stupid to let the zombies build up at the fence too btw. Doesnt matter how strong the barrier appears to be, you throw enough body weight behind it and its gonna collapse
I'm hoping that sea of zombies they ran into a few episodes back makes another appearance.

A tsunami of zombies would give them no choice but to get the f**k out there or be completely confined to the inside of the prison until they run out of food and start eating each other.

No, they were doing fine before. As I said, it wasn't a problem until first, someone started feeding them, and second, when everyone was either sick or gone.
I thought you said they had plenty of ammo? If that was all the ammo they had then wouldn't wasting on the walkers straight away just lead to a lot more problems?

They could go ahead with the guns and waste ammo straight away, the walkers would keep coming. Then when they inevitably break the fence then they would have to fight with knives, like I said before.
Rick should have got the guns earlier, when he was fixing it with Maggie, but there wasn't any need to before when they were handling it just fine without guns.

In the comics they do the same thing. And they do it to conserve ammo.

I'd much rather save ammo for an emergency than waste it all straight away and let the zombies push down the fence then, especially since they were doing fine for 7 months beforehand.
Imagine if they had been shooting them from the start? Everyone going on runs would be doing so without any bullets.

So the answer is to just let them build up at the fence, wait for it to collapse and then "waste" the ammo on walkers coming through. So now they have less ammo and a big effing hole in the fence too. Rick and Carl go through 2 clips each max out of a pretty decent sized box to take care of the ones pouring through. Based on the scenes in daylight showing the numbers at the fence that would indicate they took out 20-30+

A smart leader would have used people at the fence to clear the ones within reach in conjunction with people in towers with suppressed rifles taking them out from the back of the pack. They needed to the thinned by a decent number and stabbing them with sticks through the fence was clearly not cutting it to anyone with half a brain. The group at Woodbury would have had limited ammo too but at least they had the sense to post men on the perimeter with guns to clear build ups. Its just common sense

They may have done fine for 7 months, however the game had changed and no one took action to avoid the inevitable outcome. Hard to believe given their experience at the farm

I kinda liked the fact that this episode had nothing to do with Rick or the idiots at the prison. In fact, I see no reason at all why the show couldn't just ditch them altogether and start off anew with a completely different group of people.

That said, I found the situation with the people living in the apartment a little odd. They've been there for at least a year, if not two, and they have no idea how to kill zombies? Where has their food been coming from? Why aren't the zombies in the building attacking them? How many of those oxygen cylinders has the old guy gone through in that time? Why was it necessary to go and get him another one when he was so close to death anyway?

After burning down Woodbury it also looks like the Governor is just wandering around for a while. Is this when super tracker Michonne was out looking for him? Why didn't she find him?

Agree. The characters have become so stale

My guess is they have holed up inside and are in an area where there aren't all that many around

Where has their food been coming from?
The food truck parked out the front?
Why aren't the zombies in the building attacking them?
Presuamably because they are on a different floor that is somehow blocked off
How many of those oxygen cylinders has the old guy gone through in that time? Why was it necessary to go and get him another one when he was so close to death anyway?
So they could keep him around for as long as possible. If it meant an extra day alive Id want to do anything I could for a family member too

After burning down Woodbury it also looks like the Governor is just wandering around for a while. Is this when super tracker Michonne was out looking for him? Why didn't she find him?

I doubt Michonne the former lawyer is actually any good at tracking tbh.

I dunno, the zombies seemed to appear when it was necessary, and if there weren't that many around then why would they have all been so afraid to venture out?

Hmm, I must not have been paying attention.

But Daryl is.
