I think the Tyrese bit being surrounded was a nod to something that happened in the comics.

Definitely felt that way. A little less dramatic, but still pretty awesome.

Awesome episode.

There was still some dumb shit, like Michonne's amazing healing factor and the fact that Tyreese somehow wasn't quarantined, but it was easy to overlook those things given the much better quality of this episode.

I really enjoyed it too. I read a review entitled 'The cast catch personality' and it definitely felt like they're taking steps towards establishing some personalities in a rather vanilla bunch.

I found the latest episode to be one of the best I've seen from this show. Not least cause of how awesome Hershel is. I was relieved that he wasn't the one to kill Karen and David. I found the emotion from Tyreese to be something that hasn't been explored enough in any characters as well. And the speech from Hershel was one of the show's more memorable lines.

Tyreese's hammer scene with the zombies was definitely a nod to a similar comic scene.

Can't fault any of this. Hershel has become my favourite character on the show, which I guess makes sense as I was a Dale fan too. Carol has become far more interesting and Michonne at least is starting to get fleshed out with a personality.

I was genuinely surprised about Carol torching the bodies. I didn't see that coming at all, but I guess it makes sense. I thought it would have been that Bob guy up to some mischief by the way he's just been hanging around in the background for no particular reason.

Hopefully this show really has turned the corner. This episode was on par with the quality of season one episodes which are, in my opinion, the best of the series so far.

Well yeah, Hershel has pretty much become the Comic Dale of the show, apart from the f**king Andrea part. The hard part will be how he fares when they eventually leave the prison.

A few points..

Why did they pick a van that was so covered by brush you'd never expect it to start and run in the first place? There's got to be dozens of vehicles to chose from practically anywhere they go.

Rick needs his ass kicked for booting Carol considering how he dealt with Carl under similar circumstances. She's exactly the type of person the group needs. I can only imagine they're setting her up to return in some heroic fashion in the future.

Also what was the deal with the girl they found in the house with the bloke with the busted shoulder? Let's ignore the fact that she was apparently surprised in the open by creatures that constantly wheeze and moan. Let's take it a step further and ignore the fact that these creatures have gotten to the point that they're only a danger if you walk up to them and given them every chance to eat you. No, that's not the problem. The problem is we're to believe a zombie bite made her leg fall off like the black knight in the Holy Grail - and like that knight, she hops her one-legged ass across the street (spraying blood like a hose all the way) until the emaciated zombies catch up with her. Perhaps she decided to toss them some fruit as well.

Just because her leg is by the gate doesn't mean they pulled it off and she kept going. Could just as easily have been pulled off and cast aside after the fact.

Rick made the exact right decision. Carol no longer has empathy. He made the right decision for the group's safety and her safety. I doubt anyone in the group except maybe Daryl would want her around after learning what she did, and Tyreese would want her dead. It was a stupid and reckless thing she did anyway. How spreading Karen and David's blood everywhere was supposed to stop the disease I have no idea.
The thing with Carl is hardly the same considering he's 10 years old.

The girl was killed because she had a busted leg as she clearly explained. She said she would be dead if it wasn't for the guy.

The episode wasn't the best. But I like the way it's going. I'm predicting Carol may run into either the Governor or another upcoming group from the comics.

I want Carol to meet the Governor, usurp his leadership, and ream him with a strap-on as she converts into full blown super villain.

Good episode last night. Was hoping it was going to signal the end of the Prison. I don't think they're far away from leaving after they go head to head with the governor.

Why did they let the zombies build up to such a level at the fence if they had the ammo to take them all down with a couple of M4s? Seemed like all that fuss could have easily been avoided
