A test for the club, a decent player, with very obvious weaknesses in his game throws his toys out of the pram. Do they move heaven and earth to accommodate him or do they piss him off. Can’t imagine the top clubs tolerating this.

Not to support or demonise either side, cos Nofa is clearly chucking a tanty...but haven't they been trying to get rid of him for like 2 years? At least on and off. Something had to give, seems like it's now.

its a chicken or egg scenario. clubs dont generally try to get rid of good performing, well disciplined players.

we can only hope

Walked in 2013, let go in 2020 and in my mind likely gone in 2024. Third and final you'd think.

I feel a bit sorry for him but the plan to begin with didn't feel right to me. Even more so when Sheens was booted a year early. Audacious move to try taking on a coaching role at his age and experience.

He should have taken his time as an assistant or coaching NZ with a proper football team.

100%, yet he has no one to blame bt himself. Benji wanted this. I think it could have worked if he surrounded himself with well performed experienced assisatnts. However hes just gone and got 3 mates to likley be yes men (in saying that I do like John Morris).

I want it to work out, but ultimately this is a product of a bigger issue at the club. If you played in 2005 then you basically will get any job beyond your station within the club. He seems to be a very different personality to most coaches, it feels a bit like when Freddy took over the Roosters.

It can be a trap, doing the 'club culture' thing and hiring ex staff and players. It was an attempt to work on the club's identity but as we know its very difficult to do that with a merger.

I agree it has a Freddy feel. But he had a better squad to work with and got some results. A rookie coach is going to have a rough time of it.

The Tigers have invented 5-dimensional spooning.

That's like a whole new chapter of the Karma Sutra or something.. right?

Unfortunately I see the Tigers getting the spoon yet again next season. I like Aidan Sezer but he's 32 years old and was unwanted in the NRL back in 2019, he is the biggest signing that the Tigers have made in terms of established players.

Benji will embarrass himself as a coach, Brooks will probably string together his first great season at Manly and lead them to the finals whilst Tigers fans are left asking why he could never do that for them. Laurie and Ofahengaue are big losses as well.
